There are… no words…
May 30th, 2008 at 12:37 pm
…or my reaction to that picture.
May 30th, 2008 at 12:37 pm
I hate Jim Edmonds so much.
May 30th, 2008 at 1:15 pm
Note how niether of Lassie’s hands are vidsible in this pic. That’s because they are groping the arses of Alf and Fuko. At least Fuko gets the glove.
May 30th, 2008 at 1:15 pm
I’m at 1:40 now.

May 30th, 2008 at 1:18 pm
Back in there and batting 6th. Anyone want to take bets this is my last weekend in a Cub uniform?
May 30th, 2008 at 1:32 pm
With Lou saying he doesn’t want to move Fukudome to CF, I have a hard time seeing them dump Lassie so soon–unless we sign Lofton or bring up Felix PA.

Bad thing about being sick: the pain one encounters when he comes in contact with anything.
Good thing about being sick: Sitting in my boxers and watching the Cubs. W00T!
May 30th, 2008 at 1:43 pm
The thing about that picture is that it was first presented by Andy in a thread he had already started about what is gayer than Len’s hat. It was as if Dolan planned it, because that picture win any contest. Ever.
May 30th, 2008 at 1:43 pm
I’m pretty fast.
May 30th, 2008 at 1:47 pm
My new office lacks the capabilities for Gamecast, and I have no radio…I need more descriptive terms of who is on and such.
May 30th, 2008 at 1:49 pm
Taveras on first on a bunt single
May 30th, 2008 at 1:50 pm
Harris singles. Taveras to 3rd. Runners on 1st and 3rd, no outs. Great start by Lilly.
/sarcasm
May 30th, 2008 at 1:51 pm
Allow me, #13. Tavars led off with a bunt single. Herrera had about a 10 pitch at-bat before lining one to right center, where jimmy so slowly reachef the ball (Brenely actually called him “lackadaisical”), Tavarez–who had not been running with the pitch, took third, and Jimmy’s 7 hopthrow didn’t get him. First and third none out.
May 30th, 2008 at 1:52 pm
Spillborough lined to DeRo at third, Atkins popped out to Fuku–so shallow that Tavaras had to hold.
May 30th, 2008 at 1:54 pm
Helton goes yard. 3-0. G’uh.
May 30th, 2008 at 1:56 pm
I am today’s pitching coach.
May 30th, 2008 at 1:56 pm
I got nothing
May 30th, 2008 at 1:56 pm
The fact that you’re paying me a visit in the first inning is not a good dign, Lester.
May 30th, 2008 at 1:57 pm
Or sign.
I’m really not good today. 4-0 Rox and I’ve got 2 guys out.
May 30th, 2008 at 1:57 pm
I’ve got junk. It won’t be long now before I visit the DL
May 30th, 2008 at 1:58 pm
Who?
May 30th, 2008 at 1:58 pm
Warming up as quick as I can.
May 30th, 2008 at 1:58 pm
Warming up already? Good thing Lou didn’t pitch me in the 9th last night. I may need to pitch a lot today.
May 30th, 2008 at 2:00 pm
Lilly nearly escapes a first and third, no-out situation, but then gives up a HR, a double, a double, and a screaming line out.
4-0 Rox. Cubs yet to bat.
May 30th, 2008 at 2:02 pm
Down 4-0? DOOOOOOOM!!!11!!!!
May 30th, 2008 at 2:05 pm
You’ll know it’s the Cubs year–and not Colorado’s–if the Cubs do come back. Cook’s one of the few bright spots in the gleaming turd that the defending World Champion Rockies will be remembered as.
I’m gonna go fix me up some 1984 Kool Aid and see how it plays out.
May 30th, 2008 at 2:05 pm
No A-Ram. No Riot. Rockies’ “ace” going. Might as well sit D-Lee and Fukudome, too.
May 30th, 2008 at 2:07 pm
What would you ogdens say a year ago if you were told this team would be 12 over .500 on May 29th and I’d be batting cleanup?
I thought so.
May 30th, 2008 at 2:08 pm
Why is the Second-baseMAN playing right behind 2nd?
May 30th, 2008 at 2:08 pm
Better hope to win on Saturday and Sunday, because the Fowl get to fatten up on Pittsburgh this weekend.
May 30th, 2008 at 2:09 pm
Lee delivers a two-out infield hit off of Cook, Soto hits a screamer to second. 4-0.
If Lilly can settle down, the Cubs may be able to chip away at Colorado’s “ace”.
May 30th, 2008 at 2:09 pm
Because unless Geo is trying to hit a Sac Fly, he tends to try to yank everything, thus they play him to pull.
May 30th, 2008 at 2:10 pm
I’m getting 9 ABs this game, bitches.
May 30th, 2008 at 2:10 pm
I’m sensing a lot of panicking sallies here (#30, 33).
It was as if comment #28 summoned them.
May 30th, 2008 at 2:11 pm
Was wind aided, but Lilly’s had junk his last 2 starts.
May 30th, 2008 at 2:12 pm
Wins against the NL WORST don’t count. Anybody know how to get this penis off my face?
May 30th, 2008 at 2:13 pm
Pop out, strikeout, fly out. 1-2-3 for Freezerheads.
Remains 4-0 going into the bottom of the second.
May 30th, 2008 at 2:20 pm
is back.
May 30th, 2008 at 2:20 pm
DeRosa reaches ona two out error that Jeff Baker “Soriano”‘s, but Cedeno can’t drive him in.
4-0 after 2.
May 30th, 2008 at 2:23 pm
You’re a retard, #41. Do us a favor and jump, you sad, miserable sack.
May 30th, 2008 at 2:24 pm
Soriano and Edmonds just pulled a Baker
May 30th, 2008 at 2:25 pm
They hit out of order?
May 30th, 2008 at 2:26 pm
is about as good as the game right now.
May 30th, 2008 at 2:27 pm
Game over, doges. See ya next time.
May 30th, 2008 at 2:27 pm
like Edmonds in Boy’s Town.
May 30th, 2008 at 2:29 pm
Can’t win em’ all.
May 30th, 2008 at 2:30 pm
I’m going to kill somebody. Really. Then I’m going to chop him up in little pieces and make Fontenot eat it.
May 30th, 2008 at 2:30 pm
See, I’m not so bad after all.
May 30th, 2008 at 2:31 pm
Edmonds “Baker”‘s a fly ball, catches the next for the second out, and then Lilly again falls apart. Homer, Double, single.
7-0 Rox, after 2 1/2.
May 30th, 2008 at 2:33 pm
I wish he’d let Lilly take the beating today.
May 30th, 2008 at 2:33 pm
I wish this team would just walk off the field and never come back. I’d sooner be a White Sox fan than deal with this. When’s the last time they quit like this team? Ozzie wouldn’t let them. Lou’s a big teddy bear now, though. It just makes me sick.
May 30th, 2008 at 2:36 pm
Pardon my French, but you’re an asshole.
May 30th, 2008 at 2:36 pm
You have to got to be phucking kidding.
May 30th, 2008 at 2:36 pm
Kinda sounds like you ARE a White Sox fan… Quit trollin.
May 30th, 2008 at 2:41 pm
I’ve been even worse than Marquis this year.
May 30th, 2008 at 2:41 pm
No you haven’t. I’m seven kinds of suck.
May 30th, 2008 at 2:41 pm
It’s absolutely amazing we’re as good as we are with one reliable starter.
No, I still don’t trust Dempster.
May 30th, 2008 at 2:42 pm
Lieber in relief of Lilly, gives up a two-out HR to Spilborough. Gets the third out.
8-0.
May 30th, 2008 at 2:45 pm
To paraphrase my hero H. Simpson:
“Mmmmmmmm……..Pirates………makin’ me hungry…….”
C’mon, Desipiots, you know you wanna come over to the dark side and be a Feathered Fowl Fan. If it’s too big a jump, try being a Sox fan…..it’s just one step on your “eventual journey south.” Do not fear…..
Bwahahahahahahaha……
Lucifer,
Your favorite renegade Satanic Fowl Friend
May 30th, 2008 at 2:50 pm
All of Colorado’s runs have been scored after me.
May 30th, 2008 at 2:52 pm
Lee singles. With one out, Fukkake walks. Edmonds singles. DeRo Sac Fly. Ronny grounds out.
8-1 after 4.
May 30th, 2008 at 2:55 pm
Edmonds mixed in a hit? Really? For real? What’d that look like?
May 30th, 2008 at 3:04 pm
Edmonds’s was actually legit. A liner to right-center.
Rockies again score with two outs when, after Jeff baker’s third double of the day, Quintanilla hits a smash that Cedeno can’t pick, but worse, allows the ball to get by him, which allows Baker to wheel around and score.
9-1, bottom 5th.
May 30th, 2008 at 3:12 pm
Lieber pitches around a 1 out triple to keep the Rox off the board for only the second time since the 2nd inning.
9-1, bottom 6th.
May 30th, 2008 at 3:18 pm
Back, back, back…HEY HEY!!!
May 30th, 2008 at 3:21 pm
Just earned a spot until the All-Star break.
May 30th, 2008 at 3:24 pm
Why was I batting there?
May 30th, 2008 at 3:25 pm
Hoffpauer leads off with a double, Fukkake goes yard (FYC!), Edmonds hit his first homer as a Cub. DeRo and Cedeno ground out, Liever–still in the game–strikes out looking.
9-4 Rox after 6.
Anyone up for
May 30th, 2008 at 3:26 pm
Excuse me.
Anyone up for a trip down memory lane?
http://www.sports-library.com/index.php/Cubs_1989_Season-Game_132
May 30th, 2008 at 3:26 pm
Has been good for the cubs lately. Dare I hope? Dare I dream?
May 30th, 2008 at 3:31 pm
You’re a big prick.
May 30th, 2008 at 3:31 pm
HOFF POWER!
May 30th, 2008 at 3:32 pm
If they pull that off today…..sheeeeeit
May 30th, 2008 at 3:33 pm
With 2 outs, Jeff Baker hits his fourth double of the game. That’s the end of Liever’s day. Eyre comes in to face Quesadilla, and strikes him out.
Hull, Mikita and Esposition to sing the 7th inning stretch. 9-4 Rockies.
May 30th, 2008 at 3:35 pm
Pulled a Ditka, he was done with the stretch, when everyone else was singing “root, root, root for the Cubbies.”
May 30th, 2008 at 3:39 pm
HANK KILLS THE COOK, WITH THE BAT IN WRIGLEY
May 30th, 2008 at 3:40 pm
Awwwe. Shit, this is getting very interesting.
May 30th, 2008 at 3:44 pm
With one out, Fontenot singles, and HANK WHITE gets on the board for the first time this year, 2-run shot. HOFF POWER singles on the first pitch and that marks the end of the day for Cook.
Corpas enters the game in relief of Cook, Fukkake singles. First and third, one out and the tying run is at the plate.
May 30th, 2008 at 3:44 pm
This current lineup seems to be working. Maybe I’ll put them out there like this tomorrow.
May 30th, 2008 at 3:46 pm
I am so grounding into a double play here
May 30th, 2008 at 3:46 pm
Lassie hits a three run bomb here Andy will need to put that gay picture of him on every Gamecast from here on out
May 30th, 2008 at 3:46 pm
Holy balls.
May 30th, 2008 at 3:46 pm
WHERE ARE YOU?
May 30th, 2008 at 3:47 pm

May 30th, 2008 at 3:51 pm
I step away from the computer for 10 minutes and…and…THIS happens! Holy Shidt.
May 30th, 2008 at 3:51 pm
Mike D picked a good day to be home sick.
May 30th, 2008 at 3:51 pm
Holy shit…we have a game!
Been working all day…can any of you douches recap why was Lee was lifted??
May 30th, 2008 at 3:51 pm
Corpas gives up a single to Fukkake and then Edmonds hits a double to rigth center that Tavares seemed stuck into the earth on…Derosa homers…
Corpas done for the day without retiring a batter.
Believe it folks. Cubs up 10-9. 7th inning still going on.
May 30th, 2008 at 3:52 pm
i love it when len breaks out the peter brady voice changing yell.
May 30th, 2008 at 3:52 pm
What happened, fellas?
May 30th, 2008 at 3:52 pm
yeah there’s a tornado at Wrigley and if they win this, I’m going to climax right into the vortex. no gay stuff though.
May 30th, 2008 at 3:52 pm
I only kept listening to the game because the wind was blowing out and, well, I had nothing better to do. I did NOT expect this.
May 30th, 2008 at 3:52 pm
My arms are tired. I haven’t moved this many numbers in years.
May 30th, 2008 at 3:52 pm
Lou was thinking about giving him Sunday off anyway. We were down 9-1, it looked like the right call at the time.
May 30th, 2008 at 3:53 pm
Best part about this so far? Hank has a HR.
May 30th, 2008 at 3:53 pm
Excellent call #73
May 30th, 2008 at 3:55 pm
My time is now
May 30th, 2008 at 3:55 pm
Get that sick slider warmed up again.
May 30th, 2008 at 3:55 pm
Cedeno hits his 567th groundout of the day off of Jason Grilli, who then strikes out Maqruis to end the inning.
After 7, it’s 10-9 Cubs.
May 30th, 2008 at 3:56 pm
Feeling good about this game, folks.
May 30th, 2008 at 3:57 pm
Wow. I’m gonna go home and pile drive the missus.
May 30th, 2008 at 3:57 pm
My slider is just silly
May 30th, 2008 at 3:58 pm
marmol is me
May 30th, 2008 at 3:58 pm
I really think it’s the best slider in baseball. I really do.
May 30th, 2008 at 3:59 pm
I need a bath.
May 30th, 2008 at 3:59 pm
You can thanks me bladder, boys!
May 30th, 2008 at 4:00 pm
Marmol in the 8th inning:
Strikeout looking
Strikeout looking
Strikeout looking
To quote Dave Otto…just filthy.
10-9 Cubs, bottom 8.
May 30th, 2008 at 4:00 pm
doesn’t even begin to describe the Marmot today.
Struck out the side on 10 muthafuckin’ pitches!
May 30th, 2008 at 4:01 pm
Do I go two? Mr. Wood has gone 4 days in a row.
May 30th, 2008 at 4:02 pm
Thanks #111.
May 30th, 2008 at 4:03 pm
I think I can take credit for this, right?
May 30th, 2008 at 4:04 pm
Did anyone else feel a little weird when Hughes was talking about knees jiggling?
May 30th, 2008 at 4:05 pm
I’m up in the pen.
May 30th, 2008 at 4:06 pm
Anyone notice that our service wasn’t needed today?
May 30th, 2008 at 4:08 pm
Soriano taps out to the catcher, Fontenot grounds out sharply to Helton at first, Blanco singles, HOFF POWER strikes out swinging. No Geico insurance runs.
Kerry Wood on in the 9th for the Save. Cubs up 10-9.
May 30th, 2008 at 4:08 pm
Fasten.
Those.
Seatbelts.
For Cub fans, those three words strike a unique combination of excitement and fear… It means the Cubs are winning but it’s damn close.
May 30th, 2008 at 4:10 pm
Uh oh.
May 30th, 2008 at 4:10 pm
Ahh, can’t wait to watch this video after the game’s over. I earned it today, female doges!
May 30th, 2008 at 4:11 pm
Too bad there’s not a website you can go to and bet on two Rockies runs scoring in the ninth.
May 30th, 2008 at 4:12 pm
Mix in one of me
May 30th, 2008 at 4:13 pm
Have I hit a batter yet?
May 30th, 2008 at 4:13 pm
I’m a pitcher’s best friend!
May 30th, 2008 at 4:13 pm
Pigeon, Thanks for the play-by-play. Call me at work.
May 30th, 2008 at 4:14 pm
I’m Lassie’s best friend, too
May 30th, 2008 at 4:14 pm
I always make it interesting.
May 30th, 2008 at 4:14 pm
I’m over bitches!
May 30th, 2008 at 4:14 pm
The reverse jinx works!
May 30th, 2008 at 4:15 pm
Wood walks Spilboroughs to lead off. Wood goes 3-0 on Atkins before throwing a strike and getting a lineout to second, Spilborough doubled off for inexplicably heading to second. Helton pops out to right.
10-9 Cubs WIN. After being down 9-1 at one point, all i can say is…******* ridiculous.
May 30th, 2008 at 4:15 pm
Now that was some good shit.
May 30th, 2008 at 4:15 pm
Life is good.
May 30th, 2008 at 4:16 pm
…is our Friday clubhouse leader for Post of the Weekend.
May 30th, 2008 at 4:17 pm
Above. I really want to know, someone tell me.
May 30th, 2008 at 4:19 pm
I’m going to go purchase the largest beer I can find. Holy. Crap.
May 30th, 2008 at 4:22 pm
I molest collies. I have since 2002. That and Andy had convinced his Cardinal-fan friend that I had the night off one night in San Francisco because I had to go down to Orange County and re-register as a sex offender.
May 30th, 2008 at 4:28 pm
Why do I have to earn a living in a way that I miss THIS game? I saw it at 8-0 and then it’s 10-9. Unreal
May 30th, 2008 at 4:32 pm
so I just got off a 2 hour conference call, and see that Edmonds splooged all over himself today for a change. Wasn’t even thinking about the game…figured it was over at 7-1. As much as I can’t stand the puppy-raper, I gotta say, I don’t mind him driving in 3 runs and clutching up every so often. If I’ve got to look at his Vitalis bottle looking ass, the least he could do is go off once or twice a month and help the Cubs pick up the odd “W” Fly your flags Ogdens.
May 30th, 2008 at 5:37 pm
I wish this team would just walk off the field and never come back. I’d sooner be a White Sox fan than deal with this. When’s the last time they quit like this team? Ozzie wouldn’t let them. Lou’s a big teddy bear now, though. It just makes me sick.
May 30th, 2008 at 6:12 pm
I bet five bucks Lassie would be cut by June 30. Damn
May 30th, 2008 at 6:12 pm
SLEEPY MY LEFT ASS!!! KICK START THE -O Meter ya fart sacks!
May 30th, 2008 at 6:29 pm
You think you’re excited, feel these nipples!
May 30th, 2008 at 6:46 pm
I was doing yard work and listening to the game, trying not to cut my throat with a spade when it was 9-1. Decided I needed to go to the Farm and Barn, loaded the dog up in the car and headed for the store. Heard the Fukkake and Lassie homers and Ron and Tony Esposito trying to remember all the times they got drunk in the ’60s and screwed each others wives. Came out of the store in time to hear Hank go yard, before we even got home it was 10-9. I almost didn’t get out of the car for fear I would jinx them. But shit, I had to SEE it.
We’re a year removed from Carlos beating up Barrett, right? You know what the Cubs record is in the last 162? 96-66.
Holy crap.
May 30th, 2008 at 7:23 pm
#154
Re: #54–pretty sure that was a “mock” ledge jumper.
Let’s not forget Johnny Liebs–the wind was howling out and, while he gave up a couple runs, kept them in the game.
Kinda cool to win a game that started with Ramirez on the bench and had Lee and Soto joining him by the 5th inning. Blanco replaced Lee and Hoffpauer replaced Soto, and went a combined 4-5 with 3 runs scored.
¡Viva Hank White!
May 30th, 2008 at 8:22 pm
wow i cant belive they did that…
playing like a team… i love it
May 31st, 2008 at 3:07 am
Wow. Anyone got a tape of this game? I got on a plane and watched the score go to 4-0,then 8-0 then time to turn off the phone. Didn’t check the score until I got to the hotel checkin line when it was 10-9 and I ‘watched’ woody in the 9th
The hotel is the Adams Mark- St Louis. This win even makes St Louis bearable.
June 1st, 2008 at 7:41 am
Had to abandon the cast for my commute home with Pat and Ron after following Mike D’s link to memory lane. Liking the posts from previously silent fans of Cubs Live!
Hell of a call and terrific play-by-play, Mike D.
