Is there any way we can get to the NLCS? Please?
October 1st, 2008 at 5:06 pm
I’ve got Fukky batting 2nd and The Riot batting 8th tonight.
October 1st, 2008 at 5:07 pm
Derrek Lee said a few words to the team… I hope he was telling them how not to hit into double plays.

October 1st, 2008 at 5:47 pm
Hi Derek Lowe!
October 1st, 2008 at 5:48 pm
I heard Lee saying he could do this better than I could.
October 1st, 2008 at 5:49 pm
im only gonna call strikes if there down the middle
October 1st, 2008 at 5:49 pm
I tried the SAP function and it’s silent. Soy triste!
October 1st, 2008 at 5:50 pm
I have a name, 17!
And a strike zone as small as my package.
October 1st, 2008 at 5:52 pm
always a good thing
October 1st, 2008 at 5:55 pm
Is the crowd dead? That might have been the quietest I have heard Wrigley all season… I know it was the first inning, but NOTHING from the crowd that inning…
October 1st, 2008 at 6:00 pm
Sounds like our crowd mic is set differently than other networks’.
October 1st, 2008 at 6:00 pm
very dead..suprised there isnt a crowd behind left field
October 1st, 2008 at 6:02 pm

October 1st, 2008 at 6:02 pm
I am reading this gamecast.
October 1st, 2008 at 6:03 pm
I can’t tell the difference between a slider and a fastball
October 1st, 2008 at 6:04 pm
Hopefully ginger beard can keep this up
October 1st, 2008 at 6:05 pm
Stockton said Jim Edmonds was under that one… I had to burst out laughing when I heard that…
October 1st, 2008 at 6:07 pm
I am apparently even worse in HD.
October 1st, 2008 at 6:07 pm

October 1st, 2008 at 6:11 pm
De Ro. With a mini woof
October 1st, 2008 at 6:12 pm
Suck on that Furcal.
October 1st, 2008 at 6:13 pm
I own this ****ing stadium.
October 1st, 2008 at 6:15 pm
Mark DeRosa only needs about 13 more postseason homers to make up for that horrible double play last year.
October 1st, 2008 at 6:16 pm
I do not appreciate the fake jumbotron.
October 1st, 2008 at 6:19 pm
The best part was watching all the fans in the anti-bartman seats shirk as far back as possible.
October 1st, 2008 at 6:20 pm
I’ve missed about 7 called strikes already
October 1st, 2008 at 6:20 pm
This strike zone is smaller than my puckered asshole.
October 1st, 2008 at 6:20 pm
this ump sucksssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
October 1st, 2008 at 6:21 pm
This home plate umpire can go home to L.A. now. Good grief.
October 1st, 2008 at 6:22 pm
Throw it near the ******* plate!
October 1st, 2008 at 6:23 pm
We’re completely oblivious to the strike zone too
October 1st, 2008 at 6:23 pm
Who needs to throw strikes?
October 1st, 2008 at 6:26 pm
Which announcers are the least painful. The TV people are useless. Ron is annoying me, plus they seem to be about 6 seconds ahead. ESPN radio is synched up, but they have Jon Miller instead of Dan Schulman, who would have been, you know, actually good.
October 1st, 2008 at 6:27 pm
First running catch I’ve made all year
October 1st, 2008 at 6:27 pm
I’m on the Cubs side right now.
October 1st, 2008 at 6:28 pm
I don’t know the difference between Lou and Joe Torre.
October 1st, 2008 at 6:29 pm
I really have no range at all.
October 1st, 2008 at 6:31 pm
We have no idea how manny influence Ethier
October 1st, 2008 at 6:32 pm
We are large, and numerous.
October 1st, 2008 at 6:33 pm
If MLB wants this game to go 5 hours, they are getting what they want. Dear goodness… We’re not even through the third and the game is already more than an hour old.
October 1st, 2008 at 6:36 pm
Really?
October 1st, 2008 at 6:40 pm
Aramis Ramirez with his best DPLee imitation right there.
October 1st, 2008 at 6:46 pm
Torre’s Dodgers beat Piniella’s Mariners.
October 1st, 2008 at 6:48 pm
I tought Jon Miller everything he knows.
October 1st, 2008 at 6:50 pm
Glad to see TBS did nothing to stop me since last year.
October 1st, 2008 at 6:50 pm
I wonder how i got my nickname.
October 1st, 2008 at 6:51 pm
I don’t think TBS knows how to stop me, 59.
October 1st, 2008 at 6:51 pm
I can’t form a single coherant thought by myself so I’ll simply repeat what whatever Pat says.
October 1st, 2008 at 6:52 pm
I keep hearing an echo in here!
October 1st, 2008 at 6:53 pm
Love you Man Ram!
October 1st, 2008 at 6:53 pm
Lets look at Mark DeRosa playing space invaders
October 1st, 2008 at 6:54 pm
Perhaps TBS thinks Cubs fans find us endearing.
October 1st, 2008 at 6:57 pm
time for an 8 minute one of me
October 1st, 2008 at 6:57 pm

Good lord…why would anyone swing with this ump out there.
Looks like he is a little nervous.
October 1st, 2008 at 7:04 pm
Throw some f***ing strikes.
October 1st, 2008 at 7:10 pm
This is almost unwatchable…The nibbling Dempster we came to hate as a closer is on the mound tonight.
October 1st, 2008 at 7:11 pm
We’re going to get a work out today.
October 1st, 2008 at 7:12 pm
again
October 1st, 2008 at 7:12 pm
Maybe is hoping for a base hit that will cause Manny to pull a hammy trying to score.
October 1st, 2008 at 7:15 pm
How ’bout . . . holy cow . . . I don’t believe it.
October 1st, 2008 at 7:16 pm
Hello!
October 1st, 2008 at 7:19 pm
At least I didn’t walk Loney.
October 1st, 2008 at 7:23 pm

October 1st, 2008 at 7:24 pm
Jesus ******* Christ I suck.
October 1st, 2008 at 7:29 pm
Nobody rocks the DP quite like me. NOBODY!!!!!
October 1st, 2008 at 7:31 pm
Another ******* GIDP? What good are you to this team?
October 1st, 2008 at 7:31 pm
We’re a ******* embarrassment. 97 wins and can’t get out of our own way against a team with 84 ******* victories and a pathetic lineup. **** this shit.
October 1st, 2008 at 7:31 pm
I’m a useless piece of shit in a big game.
October 1st, 2008 at 7:33 pm
Damn ******* right we’re booing. This shit is intolerable.
October 1st, 2008 at 7:34 pm
I scare the crap out of cub pitchers
October 1st, 2008 at 7:35 pm
Get me up in the pen.
October 1st, 2008 at 7:36 pm
Why the **** didn’t I start this game?
October 1st, 2008 at 7:36 pm
We’re a bunch of pussies
October 1st, 2008 at 7:38 pm
Because if you didn’t pitch a shutout it wouldn’t have mattered? Dempster could have given up 200 runs for all this ******* offense is going to do.
October 1st, 2008 at 7:39 pm
My work the corners philosophy is really working well tonight.
October 1st, 2008 at 7:40 pm
I definitely won’t be hyped up and overthrowing tomorrow night if we’re down a game.
No way.
Not me.
Never.
October 1st, 2008 at 7:41 pm
I didn’t realize I was such a difficult feat to overcome.
October 1st, 2008 at 7:42 pm
Maybe you should let me pitch too. I’m doing everything.
October 1st, 2008 at 7:42 pm
We need to get some hits, get some guys on base and get some runs.
October 1st, 2008 at 7:42 pm
I Sure am crowded already
October 1st, 2008 at 7:42 pm
All right…my first postseason hit in my last 30 ABs!
October 1st, 2008 at 7:43 pm
No for the Dodgers. Yes for the Cubs
October 1st, 2008 at 7:43 pm
I WILL END THIS NOW!
There’s nothing like overreacting to every little thing and letting your emotions get out of control. Nothing like it.
October 1st, 2008 at 7:45 pm
Three pitches.
October 1st, 2008 at 7:45 pm
I’m much more generous when Derek Lowe is on the mound.
October 1st, 2008 at 7:46 pm
It was 2-1 after three pitches…
October 1st, 2008 at 7:47 pm
Can we play tomorrow’s game in Milwaukee?
October 1st, 2008 at 7:48 pm
Swing at us you assholes
October 1st, 2008 at 7:48 pm
The Cubs are me
October 1st, 2008 at 7:48 pm
Suck on us you assholes
October 1st, 2008 at 7:50 pm
I pick now to have my worst game of the year, not last week in Milwaukee when it didnt matter
October 1st, 2008 at 7:50 pm
I suck.
October 1st, 2008 at 7:50 pm
What do you think, 1 run over 8 innings tomorrow?
This series is over Saturday night.
October 1st, 2008 at 7:50 pm
And prematurely. DOOOOOOOOOOOOOO0000000OOOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!11!!!11!!
October 1st, 2008 at 7:53 pm
Why is Manny seeing me?
October 1st, 2008 at 7:54 pm
You’ll be seeing me soon. This is over.
October 1st, 2008 at 7:54 pm
I like beer and brats. Here we come Milwaukee!!!
October 1st, 2008 at 7:54 pm
Pass the rheumatiz medicine, Granny.
October 1st, 2008 at 7:56 pm
It’s me all over again.
October 1st, 2008 at 7:57 pm
The Cubs can’t handle me.
October 1st, 2008 at 7:57 pm
give me a break…that bender was at his ankles!!!
October 1st, 2008 at 7:58 pm
Who’s ready to hear me sing again?
October 1st, 2008 at 7:59 pm
Anyone who didn’t see this coming was fantasizing. We’re the Cubs. This is what we do.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:00 pm
This board is full of them…
October 1st, 2008 at 8:03 pm
Doesn’t mean we’re wrong.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:04 pm
So’s the Cubs lineup.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:06 pm
yeah I’ll take the strike and swing at the ball.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:06 pm
Holy shit, contact!
October 1st, 2008 at 8:07 pm
We would have finished 5th in your division behind the Tardinals, Bitches.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:07 pm
If I were used, proven post-season busts would not be put in the lineup. Especially in the lead-off spot.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:09 pm
I will ground into a double play to lead off the eighth
October 1st, 2008 at 8:10 pm
Baaaaaa! If you haven’t heard yet I’m being kept in a beer garden at secret location in Milwaukee. Baaaaa! Baaaaa!
True story . . .
October 1st, 2008 at 8:12 pm
A younger version of Howry am I
October 1st, 2008 at 8:13 pm
Miss me yet?
October 1st, 2008 at 8:15 pm
Which team was 13.5 games better than the other one again?
**** this ******* franchise. What a ******* pathetic sickening embarrassment. I’m so ******* mad my stomach hurts.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:15 pm
**** you Dusty.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:16 pm
This is ******* disgusting.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:16 pm
to 130
October 1st, 2008 at 8:17 pm
I got you farther than Loo ever will.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:18 pm
But not as far as you should have you ******* piece of shit motherfucker.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:22 pm
Why are our weakest hitters backing 1st and 2nd?
October 1st, 2008 at 8:22 pm
Ready to see Dodger fans waving me at Game 3 on Saturday
October 1st, 2008 at 8:23 pm
No team has ever won with me in the leadoff spot, and no team ever will. Too bad my fragile ego prevents me from being able to hit anywhere else in the lineup.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:23 pm
I heard that you were getting Man Rammed in the ass by Bartman while the black cat videotapped the whole thing.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:23 pm
The Cubs don’t deserve to win, but my strike zone this entire game has been atrocious.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:26 pm
Why can’t we understand that fans don’t cheer for dogshit play? Is it really that hard to understand?
October 1st, 2008 at 8:29 pm
I never thought I would root for lassie this hard. Ever.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:29 pm
i was too busy napping to see fontenot get a pinch-hit single
October 1st, 2008 at 8:30 pm
I thought the ball was carrying tonight
October 1st, 2008 at 8:31 pm
Mine stayed in the park.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:31 pm
Remember, this is the year
October 1st, 2008 at 8:31 pm
I only carry when the Dodgers are up. Kind of a reverse Metrodome thing.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:31 pm
Go **** yourself #49
October 1st, 2008 at 8:33 pm
The biggest start of my career is tomorrow night
October 1st, 2008 at 8:34 pm
If was still playing for Tony I would have been on enough juice to drive that ball to Evanston.
I’m wearing my eyeliner tomorrow night.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:34 pm
no shit!
October 1st, 2008 at 8:34 pm
I can’t stop rooting for this franchise and I hate almost every minute of it. What the **** did we do to deserve this?
October 1st, 2008 at 8:35 pm
How ’bout that! Jeeze . . . this, wow!
October 1st, 2008 at 8:35 pm
I just got turned off
October 1st, 2008 at 8:35 pm
No No Unbelievable. I cant grunt and sigh and groan enough
October 1st, 2008 at 8:36 pm
This is great radio
October 1st, 2008 at 8:36 pm
Then we are doomed.
DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMED
October 1st, 2008 at 8:36 pm
We should have seen a sports psychologist to avoid coming completely unglued, again. Do you think he has an open appointment in the morning????
October 1st, 2008 at 8:39 pm
I think I just pooped my pants in frustration.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:39 pm
I also think our closer is named Kerry Woods!
October 1st, 2008 at 8:39 pm
I don’t know 153, but I don’t think I can take another season of this shit.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:40 pm
I’m an October tradition.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:40 pm
It doesn’t have to be October for me.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:41 pm
Quit it with the doom and gloom bullshit. This team is good and Big Z is going tomorrow.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:41 pm
We thought it would be a better story to not win it all 100 years later.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:42 pm
here’s Greg Maddux in the ninth to step on your heads while your drowning
October 1st, 2008 at 8:43 pm
Everything else went wrong, but at least we kept it close.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:44 pm
Some day we’ll go all the way. Not this year though.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:44 pm
opening our mouths and unzipping maddux’s pants
October 1st, 2008 at 8:46 pm
I agree. But can you really blame anyone? One guy on the team actually showed up tonight. Considering everything else, I’m having a hard time staying off the ledge.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:46 pm
I don’t pitch good in the post season. I should playing FOR the Cubs, not against them.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:48 pm
I hope I get the chance to bat with one out this inning.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:49 pm
You know we’ll score this meaningless run.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:49 pm
Defensive indifference, offensive indifference, pretty much sums up our performance tonight.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:49 pm
seriously. what a shitty game.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:50 pm
Z should pitch in me. Not Dempster. (If we are lucky enough to make it that far)
October 1st, 2008 at 8:52 pm
this announcing team makes my ears bleed.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:52 pm
Love it when I happen.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:53 pm
@ 171: Yes I can blame someone … the chicken little fans. Jesus it is one game. No wonder why the Cubs play like ass at home in the postseason. Every time they do something remotely bad, the air gets let out of the whole place. And booing the team after the game? Really classy job by the assholes that actually stayed until the end of the game (Cubs fans leaving early? I would expect that out of Rays fans but not Cubs fans). The team won 97 games this season. Get a ******* grip.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:54 pm
There you go Bitches!
October 1st, 2008 at 8:56 pm
The Cubs had a 2 run lead and didn’t do shit after that. That was the fans fault? Who are you Dusty Baker?
October 1st, 2008 at 8:56 pm
It doesn’t matter if you won 97 or 162. The season started all over tonight, and may have ended tonight.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:57 pm
How the **** optimistic do you expect the fans to be after 100 years of this bullshit?
If you can put all of that out of your mind when you’re watching, good for you. Most people can’t.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:58 pm
I also blame the fans. Clearly, we just don’t want it bad enough. The Dodger fans want it more. Shame on us. We suck.
October 1st, 2008 at 9:03 pm
Hey 180 thanks for stealing my name. That one game you refer to…the team that loses it has lost 24 of 28 series in the NLDS (86%). How are we chicken little fans when we’re faced with a 14% chance of success.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not giving up, but I’m in no position to criticize people for preparing for the worst. The regular season means approximately DICK once you get to the post season.
October 1st, 2008 at 9:15 pm
We’re a bunch of goddamn chumps.
October 1st, 2008 at 9:17 pm
Last year the Cubs lost the first two games in Arizona. Was that the fault of Cubs fans booing?
October 1st, 2008 at 9:20 pm
@ Andy You have to admit that was a weak ass atmosphere at Wrigley tonight. You would have thought it was getaway day playing the Reds in mid-August. And at no point did I say it was the fans fault they lost. I just think that it is one game (14% stat aside), and I think this year is different. This team is built to win and I think they will get tomorrow’s game behind Z.
October 1st, 2008 at 9:38 pm
The same guy who shits his pants in anything remotely resembling a big game?
If Lilly or Harden took the mount tomorrow, I might sleep tonight. But not with that mongoloid on the hill.
Speaking of pitching, it’s a piss poor feeling to have a 17 game winner on the mound and be clamoring for Marquis to come in.
What a crapfest this was.
October 1st, 2008 at 9:39 pm
the atmosphere is bound to be a little weak.
October 1st, 2008 at 9:39 pm
You can go eff yourselves. If these players are so emotionally fragile that they can’t build momentum themselves, then frankly they shouldn’t be here.
October 1st, 2008 at 9:59 pm
look at it this way…we have z, harden n lilly lined up..demp is like our third best pitcher..la used their best one..not only that BUT we had this game..if the ump called outside strikes..he made demp change his game..we shouldve won this game…dont worry tomm z will be great n then we got harden n lilly whos been hot we will win in 4!
October 1st, 2008 at 10:02 pm
good grief…………….this means I have to watch the debate tomorrow night because I don’t have the intestinal fortitude to watch the Cubs lose…….
October 1st, 2008 at 10:09 pm
What a lame time
October 1st, 2008 at 10:14 pm
We’re fukking toast.
October 1st, 2008 at 10:27 pm
Was weak tonight even before we were losing. That’s the problem with the Cubs being so popular is that the true die hard fans can’t get tickets because all these corporate bastards get them.
October 1st, 2008 at 10:32 pm
Good lord, what a bunch of pussies. It’s one freakin’ game.
October 1st, 2008 at 10:34 pm
When’s the first playoff game? We want to start out strong and not have the series over before it starts like last year.
October 1st, 2008 at 10:38 pm
Bullshit. The true fans know a bunch of choking ******* dogs when they see them. That’s why they ******* clammed up. They knew that ******* game was over after the slam. It was over because this team has no ******* heart.
Anybody can ******* rally in a ******* regular season game against a steaming pile of crap like Colorado or a sucktastic Milwaukee bullpen.
A ******* championship ballclub sacks up and gets it done in the postseason. 97 wins don’t mean ******* dick in October.
October 1st, 2008 at 10:42 pm
Dempster couldn’t find the plate, period. He got squeezed more than once, but it’s hard to get calls when the rest of your pitches aren’t close. Lowe had a tight zone, too, and he managed to make pitches.
Dempster rode a carriage into tonight’s game, and it turned back into a pumpkin. He’s still what he always was: a pitcher with good stuff and little control. We were just fooled into believing he had changed.
And yeah, LA sent their ace tonight, but the next two out of the gate aren’t slouches, by any means. This is going to be a long, uphill climb and I don’t think Z’s a hiker.
October 1st, 2008 at 11:04 pm
It is so frustrating to watch this team do so many great things all season and watch the same team fail to show up in the playoffs. In the postgame Lou said this is only the first game, don’t worry about the offense not showing up. Actually Lou it’s the fourth game. I still have faith that we will turn it around.
