It was inevitable. Or sort of inevitable. But I guess being “sort of inevitable” makes no sense. But some day, you just new that your favorite Cubs bloggers would come together and create a site together. And that site would be classy and highbrow and everything you ever wanted.
And today, it’s happened. Well, actually it happened like three weeks ago, and instead of writing stuff for the sites that we have that people actually read, we were drumming up content for the new site. And we decided to launch it on April Fools’ Day.
You know, the more I write this, the more I think it’s a ba…, oh never mind.
Anyway, starting today, you can not only read my brilliance here, and Kermit’s stuff at Hire Jim Essian, and, our pal Chip and his Chip Caray Twitter feed, but you can also read us at the high brow, classy, sophisticated site we just created.
We’re calling it Fisted Foul.
No wonder Chip was so excited about writing for us.
First off, Desipio will still be here, and Hire Jim Essian will still be there, and that’s where we’ll still eviscerate the 2010 Cubs season. But we’ll be writing shorter (and much more frequent) pieces covering all of Major League Baseball at Fisted Foul.
Opening night is only three days away (and it’s the Red Sox and Yankees and they are the only teams that count!), and everybody else opens on Monday. So it seemed like if we were ever really going to do this, now was the time.
So what are you going to see over at Fisted Foul? Well, so far we have three regular features planned.
Mass Media-ocrity – Our home for YouTube clips or the like, and a place to point out just how terrible some (cough, cough Aaron Boone, cough, cough) of the TV and radio guys are. If you didn’t see the video of Johnny Bench doped off his ass on Vicodin after knee surgery, you don’t know what you’ve missed.
Brain Fistings – This is the column that Chip is writing for us. It’s baseball the way Chip sees it. Think of his viewpoint as a mixture of naivete and stupidity. What a combination.
Phil of Sh** – Since Phil Rogers isn’t just the Tribune national baseball columnist, he’s the national baseball columnist for every Tribune owned newspaper in the galaxy, how could we not share our eviscerations of his work with baseball fans from all over?
But it’s just the start. We’re complete shit at categorizing things, so there are lots of other things just floating around on the site.
Come on over and look around.
Don’t cost nothin’.
