It made me think how Edmonds has not really exhibited the same cocky crap that made him such a douche in St. Louis. Some of it may be because he's a Cub now, but it's interesting how a lot of guys start acting better once they get away from LaRussa's crap.
Since Scott Rolen always maintained his cool, I'm not going to completely exonerate Lassie And, Rolen seemed to have pretty much stayed in LaRussa's doghouse. That's so perfect. The one decent dude in that clubhouse gets treated like a pariah by The Genius. Rolen didn't go there by choice but he did re-sign with them by choice. Eff him. Eff Larussa. Eff 'em all. |

I was thinking about this on the trip home last night... The Harden trade has increased Marquis' value - it basically sent away our old #5 starter for a starter that was so ridiculously better than Marquis that it bumped Jason down to the clear #5 starter.
As a #4 starter...it's probably not as clear. While we're overpaying, the Harden deal gave Marquis a role where he might actually be very good.
Yep. It's the role of "pitcher that definitely won't be in the playoff rotation." I think it's the role for which he's best suited. |

Are we witnessing his descent into madness? No, seriously. I really think we are. See what happens when you take yourself/your site too seriously? That's why I hope Desipio is done with the bullying. This should be a haven for morans of ALL types. It should be a place to cut loose. To let your hair down and write some nonsense. So let's all go get in that virtual hotel room, pop open some virtual alcohol, and strip down for an old-fashioned boxer party. Just a bunch of guys drinkin', lettin' loose in the comfort of some Hanes boxers, tellin' lame jokes, and exaggeratin' old stories. Come one, come all is what I say. The Desipio Boxer Party is ragin' already, fellas. Who wants to get drunk and solve the country's woes with me? You had me at "That's". Nothing like a couple guys sitting around chewing gum. Hey, I never said anything about us chewing gu---OH. I see what you did there. Clever. I like it. Yeah, I exposed my eyes to that mess, too. Actually I think the Cubs' worst nightmare is not making the World Series. Not making the World Series is just about the worst thing that could happen, and they'd probably be happy to play anybody anywhere once they get there. I get this kurtevans post at all. |

Here's the thing...
I have a few different accounts on BCB that aren't banned (yet). I've commented with a couple of them with totally innocuous things, just so everyone's guard is down.
I started working on a fanpost yesterday that would be ready for tomorrow afternoon - I was going to post it right around first pitch, so it would have a few hours of comments before Al took a shit hemorrhage and deleted the post and banned me. Because Bleed Cubbie Blue welcomes all opinions.
But you know what? Al's an idiot, leading a tribe of idiots. And those idiots actually enjoy being lead by a King Idiot. As long as they're happy and not bothering us, I say let them be. Blasting them through a fanpost is pretty much the mental equivalent of dumping one of Jerry's Kids out of a wheelchair. Or picking on the table full of Matheletes.
So, I say we just let them be. And hope that Al eventually turns BCB into a suicide cult.

Is this really going to be a keeper league? I think I only want to keep a couple pitchers. The rest of my team smells of a homeless green undercock. Still I expect to be playoff bound somehow. Lot's of managers should seriously consider not playing next year. I say if you finish lower than 12th and your name isn't SD, you have to pay to play. And you have to pay me. Because I said.
The breaking point for me when when I was playing Gitles' Nipples or whatever his team is and I noticed he hadn't changed his lineup since week one and he still beat my ass. I suck. We'll cut the fat this offseason. You just watch. Mark my words, brothers. We'll. Cut it. |
