Um... She'll still have bigger boobs than Gwyneth Paltrow, but wow. Edit: MUCH bigger. I missed the part where she got implants. Christina Applegate had this same thing done, for the same reasons, some years ago now. She actually had CANCER. Jolie was very likely to get it but hadn't yet. I think she had CANCER in the one tit, IDITO, but had the other one whipped off as a precaution. Because sometimes you only want to get one done.[url]

... I hadn't the slightest notion that Tennessee Williams was gay.
GTFO, Wheezer. I knew he was gay before I knew ANYTHING else about him. Like, what he actually did for a living. Yeah, I first heard about him when I was in 5th grade and he died from choking on a pen cap--which gave my teacher an opportunity to present it as a cautionary tale for those of us who chewed on our pens and pencaps. His gayness was openly discussed in the remberances of him, making him one of the first people about whom I learned was gay--long before I read or saw any of his plays. That's quite a BC-sized blind spot that Wheezer inexplicably had. "Oscar Wilde can only wish he was this gay"

Hawk is pretty funny these days.
I know this thread is for admitting stuff that might be embarrassing, but... for fuck's sake, Gil. I'm willing to hear Gil out on this (and further derail PenFoe's Beloved Favorite Thread) in that when the Sox are playing badly and losing, Hawk's petty, petulant little bitch act--breathtaking in it's total regard to any professional standards of broadcasting-- can be amusing to someone who revels in bad things happening to the Sox like I do. I'm at a loss, however, to come up with any other reason as to how listening to him call a game could in any way be construed as enjoyable. This, plus his recent feuds with Boers and Bernstein have spilled into the booth. I'm regularly surprised by the large number of Sox fans (I work with waaaay too many of them) who just don't get how bad he is. I mean I realize they're Sox fans and the bar is set pretty low as far as intelligence goes. But how does anyone not recognize the mind numbing level of crap he spews?

(Fork, you can write your own joke about Stew and/or Heston's dead, cold hands here)
They break easily. Really too bad. There were some zingers in the lost five: 11. Thou shalt not eat pork, except for bacon, because it is yummy. 12. Thou shalt not honor a team on the north side of the city of Chicago, they are an abomination. 13. Thou shalt not designate a hitter. 14. Thou shalt not swing at a 3 and 0 pitch with two outs, a tie score and the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth. 15. Thou shalt not adopt a constitutional amendment guarantying the right to bear arms. That is just stupid. The 15th. is my favorite. Thou shalt not have the means to protect thyself, thy family, thy property. What could possibly go wrong with such a "common sense" commandment. "I, The Lord, thy God, shall employ irony whenever possible."Doesn't this require some sort of ruling?

Anybody know anything about speakers? Due to configuration of the new living space, the tower speakers we currently have aren't going to work. We have built-in shelves that are 18" high, so I'd like to get two speakers that will fit in there. Will be used for music and TV. Need to be decent, but I certainly don't have a discerning enough ear that I'll know the difference between good and great. Can I just get something like this? These are about 3 times the price, are they much better? Thanks in advance. You do get what you pay for Pen and there will be a noticable difference. What is your budget? If you could swing it I would take a look at these. Klipsch lowest price bookshelf but they make a quality product. Bose is a notable counterexample to this proposition. Buy Other Sound Equipment? Another triumph of marketing over substance.

(Mostly for Flannj)
Nice new place in Mt. Prospect from the people who brought you Sunda. Located in Randhurst Village (now an outdoor mall), they feature a rage of foods from Earth and Ocean. They encourage sharing, so expect your entree to come with a serving spoon.
We had 4 appetizers and 3 entrees. The sushi rolls were very tasty, the spicy tuna being the best of the three. Popcorn shrimp was also quite good. The gaucho steak with egg was nothing special, but the prawns over rice and mushrooms were terrific. Dessert was small crunchy cookies with vanilla and chocolate dipping sauce. Meh. But the mini churros were excellent.
I, for one, am shocked that Chuck ate here with a Costco nearby. Thanks Chuck - this place is on the list. And to Fork's point, how do the churros compare?
