I don't know how the hell I ever got to this point, but after about 1,900 shitty posts and maybe 8 decent ones it's time to retire the name butthead. Good thing, because butthead is a pretty stupid name.

and a head coach that needs to let someone else decide when to challenge plays... Lovie is just at league average as far as successful challenges, and no one is good at them since the barrier for overturning a call is so high. I thought his challenge on the almost touch back fumble was a great one, even if it didn't turn out. This. As for the 12 men on the field challenge, someone had to have noticed that Clay Mathews got off the field in time, no? He was busting it back to the bench, from what I saw. I think he have even jumped over the line. But in any event, when the play was called, he was way off the field. It's frustrating because if we had scored on two of our red zone possessions, this convo would be moot. What number do you wear again? I don't wear a number, because I get results. You stupid chief!!! Gil, your only mistake was using "we" after a loss. That's when "they" couldn't score in the redzone, those bums. |

Let's just say I'm happy I wasn't near a radio and only was privy to his punchable face on TV with no sound.
Oh, you would have loved it. Garry must have pointed out how much he loves everything about Chicago and the Cubs at least a dozen times. He also talked about how much Chicago winters suck! And what a shame it is that the Pirates don't draw more fans. At least he didn't mention the Santo statue thing. |

Chicago's unwillingness to offer long-term contracts indicates they might trade someone (probably Kirk Hinrich) to free up cap space in 2010.
If the Bulls' plan is to clear cap space and really shoot for 2010, they should do more than unload Kirk's contract. I'd love to see them try to get Tracy McGrady and his $23 million expiring contract, because if they're going to go for it, they might as well really go for it. Just freeing up Kirk's money up may not be enough to get a max FA. That would be so poetic. Trade for McGrady, who they failed to sign to a max deal in 2000, mainly for his expiring contract. Then, in turn, fail to use that space to sign a would-be megastar to a max deal 10 years later. That would be so Cub. |

This sounds bad: Chicago Bulls guard Ben Gordon(notes) and Milwaukee Bucks forward Charlie Villanueva(notes) flew to Detroit on Wednesday morning for a mid-day meeting with team president Joe Dumars and indications are both are moving rapidly toward deals with the Detroit Pistons, league and sources close to the two players told Yahoo! Sports. Hope everyone enjoys the 90-ppg, 33-win Bulls next season. Who cares. What's the difference between 33 wins with no playoffs and 41 wins but losing in the first round? Yeah I was sucked into the Celtics series, but it was pretty meaningless. |

It's a lost season. And another closed window. The window will remain closed until it opens again. Which could be next week (after they sweep Pissburgh and take 3 of 4 from Milwaukee), or next year (after Ricketts shows up with a bag of cash), or in 5 years.
Hendry's hands were tied, partly by Zell, partly by himself. Some decisions didn't work out. Ramirez got hurt. Shit happens.
At least they're not the 2006 Cubs. This is more like the 1991 Cubs. Or the 1987 Cubs.
What about the 2007 Cubs? I haven't given up on this, but it's more fun to daydream about football season right now. |

I don't for a minute don't believe that North didn't know this whole thing wasn't on the up and up.
Oh, I dunno. North is pretty stupid. There's a reasonable probability that he saw a chance to "enhance the North-to-North brand" with something new and noteworthy and there was this guy willing to finance it. I'd say North not bothering to check out the background of someone pimping his ego is very possible Then again, I wouldn't put it past North that he's a crook, too. So he's either an idiot, or a crook. This is awesome. I felt kind of bad for the lower level employees at first, because I've worked for a shady company that had missing money and paychecks bouncing, but they went to work for this moron. If the idea wasn't bad enough, having North in charge should have been a red flag. |
