Seriously...WTF, Taiwan?

Hopefully he hasn't already passed his genes onto the next generation.

What could go wrong?

Anyway.  What do you guys think about Jim Deshaies so far?

Vanilla has never been my favorite flavor.

Sullivan is such a bad journalist.

CSN just showed replay of Welington's mental gaffe. Ricketts sitting a few feet behind him but didn't shout 'Run!"

Met a guy at the hotel breakfast in New Orleans.  He was wearing a Cubs shirt.  I asked him if he knew who won the game on the previous night.  He said that he didn't know and apologized for not knowing because Tod Ricketts was one of his best friends.  I felt that it would be discrete of me to change the subject.

It's over.  Great God Almighty.  It's over.

Now that Jason Collins has made news as being the first active gay athlete in a big four North American professional sport, one should listen to all of the callers (and I presume fans) who make such declarations incredibly difficult in pro sports, i.e., pretty much anyone calling The Score right now on Boers and Bernstein.

There are equally horrible comments on pretty much every news story written about this as well, comments that I am desperately trying not to gil.

Think what the reaction would have been had this happened 20 years ago.  Or even 10 years ago.

...if I could find an image I would make the Kerry Wood Gnome my avatar.

Now the Bears can pick up a backup QB on the cheap.

If he got Raptured, would he come off the salary cap?

Couldn't the Jets have done that last week when the Bears were in the market for a linebacker?

...I think that Kyle Long is going to be a bust.  But at least he isn't Te'o

No Stew.

Yes Stew.

I watched Oregon score 59 points against Cal, so I admit that their offensive line is doing something right.

Truth be told, I watched them score 52 points, I couldn't Bear (pun intended) to watch beyond that.

BUMP for former NLC foes the Astros and their quest for the most Ks by a team (batting) in MLB history.

Currently sitting at 200 Ks through 20 games.

Ankiel leading the charge with an amazing 26 Ks (against 0 BBs) in 42 ABs.

Current Projections for Ankiel:
340 ABs, 41 Homers, 211 Ks.

The Cubs are waiting in the wings with Brett Jackson

CINCINNATI -- Cody Ransom will make his Cubs' debut Tuesday night at Great American Ball Park, playing third and batting seventh against Reds rookie left-hander Tony Cingrani.

Tickets are still available.

That's a quality PAUL SULLIVAN burn.

And just like that, it's bonertime in his first Cubs AB.

FYPS?

Cody Ransom homers in first Cubs at-bat. Can't remember last time that happened either.

Starlin Castro is last Cubs player to homer in first at-bat, in Cincy in 2010.
I am no doubt the only Desipiot who can remember the last Ransom to play third base for the Cubs.  He wasn't bad.  Made the All Star game twice.

Some might even say he was handsome.

They would be exaggerating.

In a town that has color guys like Hawk, Zonk, Edzo and Stacey King - Jim Deshaies is an absolute titan.

Hawk is a color guy? I'm asking seriously because I have no idea what he thinks he's doing.

He invented the batting glove, that grants him license to do whatever he wants.

There was a dude on our new Cody's team rocking a batting glove in practice the other day. He was a bit mentally challenged, so I said nothing. But one of our other guys wondered aloud about the possibility of wearing wide receiver gloves in 16" softball. I looked around for Fork, Huey, Oleg etc. and none of them were there. So I laid into the guy vehemently and said, absolutely fucking not. What the hell have I turned into?

Did you order him to get off your lawn?
