Why are Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee bashing Thurgood Marshall?
" When Graham asked where she was on Christmas (referring to the Christmas Day bomber), Kagan quipped that like most Jewish people, she was probably at a Chinese restaurant. " We need this woman on the Supreme Court.

There is a lot about Memphis that I don't understand. Two detectives are sent to an elementary school to investigate a fight between a couple of seven year olds?

It's about time somebody started talking about it.
Maybe we should question the GM or possibly fire somebody? Any ideas?
This is why the season is starting to get frustrating. The losing doesn't bother me all that much, because I never expected the team to be competitive. But it's quite obvious that there needs to be a front-office change, so what are they waiting for? Not only is there no point in letting Hendry finish out the season, it'd probably cause damage long term. Fire Hendry and let Wilken or that new Kaplan guy be the interim GM while Ricketts finds the next Friedman or Epstein. That way they'd have a few months on the job to evaluate the team, rather than starting fresh in October or November. There's absolutely no point in waiting. As for potential replacements, I'd hope Ricketts looks at this guy or this guy. So they are sending Z to anger management therapy. What a waste of time. If they want to hire a therapist it should be for the whole team . They should hire that actor in "The Natural" who comes in to tell the team that losing is a disease like syphilis, and then fire him Perhaps you should consider going with Z to the anger management therapy.

I need bloodshed. It is customary to fire somebody when things are this bad. They aren't going to fire Piniella or Hendry. So why not Jaramillo? Or the first base coach? Most guys who get on first base never get any farther, so he must be responsible. Maybe the third base coach is so repulsive that none of the players want to have anything to do with him. Fire his ass. Fire the guy in the scoreboard who is responsible for putting up all of those zeroes. Clear out all of the ticket sellers. If the Cubs don't sell any tickets they won't have anyone in the stands to encourage management to keep things as they are. Fire Len and Bob. I dn't know why, just do it!

I must agree with Gil and TJ here. Private comments are private comments and he shouldn't have been fired for making them...
Anyone who makes private comments around a Rolling Stone reporter thinking that they won't become public is too dumb too hold a responsible position. This was about the Washington Post reporter, Stew, not McChrystal. You expect me to read this stuff?

So...what do you guys want to do for the rest of the summer?
Contemplate the shitty deal Hendry will put together to dump Zambrano? Be gay and watch the World Cup. When that's over, I'm pretty much fucked. I hear the outdoors is nice this time of year. Sounds like a lot of speculation though. Hey! My bike still works!

When I got home last night Mrs. Cubbieblue told me that she went searching for a recipe on the net and somehow managed to make something called "CRAWLER" our new homepage. I went to My Yahoo and went to our homepage but when I tried to reset it as our homepage I got a pop up saying that CRAWLER was blocking my ability to change homepage back to Yahoo. So I went to System Restore and reset the computer to 2 hours before that hijacker insinuated itself onto my computer. All is well. I had never used System Restore before, but it worked perfectly. Monday will be our 51st anniversary. For a while it looked touch and go.
What was your question? Happy anniversary, you two.I think that my question is did I use a sledgehammer to kill a fly? Was there a simpler, less drastic cure?

Sorrento in North Beach, in San Francisco. Unfortunately, it closed in 1958 or '59. When I think pizza that is what I can't get out of my head. Not only does everything since get judged by that standard, nothing has ever come close (except for Bella Napoli on Telegraph in Oakland, but that closed around 1961.) A restaurant opened in Berkeley last winter that serves a vegan pizza with (don't laugh) pureed cashew paste instead of mozzarella. Yes, that's what I thought when I saw it on the menu, but I tried it anyway. Now I am hooked.
Village Pizza. Hartsdale, NY. The pizza by which all others will forever be measured in my mind. Oh, and a place in Berkeley selling vegan pizza with Cashew Paste is the least surprising thing since Thrillho entered that Hacky Sack tournament wearing pants made out of Patchoulli-scented hemp. I see your point.
