Teddy Greensti That's a winner. I feel like I'm living in a world of retarded people. Sometimes I get mad at my dad for saying things like "so and so isn't clutch" or "you gotta love guys like Theriot" but I guess it's not really his fault. Guys that are his and Pen's age have spent the majority of their lives with shitheels like Schuster and Garfien and Phil FuckingRogers as their only source of sports analysis. I'm just glad that the internet exists so I can avoid shelfturds like those guys and yet still keep up with the goings on of my teams. Exactly. My dad's the same way. It's bred into 'em. They're God-fearing, hard-working, 'Mericans and damnit they like they're ballplayers scrappy, their beer cold, and their lawns free of God damned kids. As if on que, the Tribune posted a couple stories for our dads that Pre should stay away from if he wants to maintain his sunny disposition. There were no major injuries except Angel Guzman's shoulder tear, no real controversies except for a couple of pronouncements by ex-Cub Milton Bradley in the New York Times and on ESPN, and virtually no questions about the Billy Goat, the 102-year drought or Alfonso Soriano batting leadoff. No major injuries if you don't count that season-ending one to your 8th inning setup guy. One name was conspicuously missing when Tom Gorzelanny talked about how much Greg Maddux and his veteran teammates have helped him this spring. He mentioned Ryan Dempster and the rehabilitating Ted Lilly specifically, but not the supposed staff leader, Carlos Zambrano. But baseball's best players have often been its most selfish -- something they rarely teach you in Little League. All this other awfulness aside...who ever considered Carlos Zambrano the "staff leader"? Apparently not guys your age.

The bit with the chicken McNuggets was terrifying.
Worse yet, was that the kids still would eat it. However, they all said they were hungry, so it's probably a biased sample size.
Plus, they're dumb fucking kids.
Says this guy.awesome memory Stew's just happy that he remembered that thread You give me too much credit.

Nice letter, not enough time in the day to follow all of those links, but it made its point. I suppose some of the points could be taken by both parties... The behavior seems pretty similar from both sides when the roles are reversed.
Totally agree. Problem is most of the whining and crying seems to be from the politicians themselves. That's what makes me most upset. Or apathetic. I don't know which. I also agree. Washington was warning us about a party system of government way back in 1776, saying (among other things) "However combinations or associations of the above description may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely, in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion." Generally speaking, with a few ideological exceptions, members of both parties tend to serve the same corporate masters and represent the same billion-dollar interests. Sad as it sounds, maybe we're best off when they're locked in a stalemate, because if "nothing is getting accomplished," then perhaps they aren't lube-free fucking us quite as hard. George Washington is OUR guy. You fucking Canadians don't get to claim him. I'm like the dentist from Seinfeld who converted from Catholicism to Judaism for the jokes. He outed Seinfeld as an anti-dentite.

Just sit back and let the stupid wash over you. Gorzelanny credited Maddux after a strong six-inning outing on Thursday in Tucson, where he held an Arizona lineup missing only Justin Upton to two runs. He worked quickly, threw strikes and recovered quickly when things went wrong. The results spoke for themselves as he pitched his way into Lou Piniella's rotation.
After one year after from baseball, Maddux accepted Jim Hendry's invitation to join the Cubs as a special assistant this year. The job description is a little bit of everything, from coaching to evaluating players, as he tries to find the exact right niche for himself as he transitions from Hall of Fame pitcher to baseball lifer.
He's not sure if he wants to get back into uniform as a pitching coach (the role his brother Mike excels in) or manager or if he wants to be more involved in putting teams together. It will be very interesting to see what he decides. The Cubs are very lucky to have him working for them, not the Braves or someone else, and should make it clear that they see him as a lot more than a celebrity guest.
He can have a huge impact in tons of ways big and small. Just ask Gorzelanny.
2. The Cubs are having a great spring but don't judge them by the 13-8-2 record. Too many of the guys doing the heavy lifting -- guys like Tyler Colvin and Jim Adduci -- will either disappear or morph into small roles when the season begins. The good news is that hitting coach Rudy Jaramillo is getting results up and down the lineup but let's see how the team plays from here on out, when Piniella will be using his regulars and trying to define some roles in a bullpen that seems like it's a Jeff Nelson or two shy of a load. When a pitcher only gives up two runs to an Upton-less lineup in a spring training game, you gotta get that guy in your rotation. Nice editing, Trib: After one year after from baseball, Maddux accepted Jim Hendry's invitation to join the Cubs as a special assistant this year. Honestly I was going to reply to RV's post to say that that may be the longest string of words Phil Rogers has ever written without a factual error, but then you had to go and post that, Slaky. But seriouslyWho in hell? Dammit Stew, you're only making it worse for me. I appreciate the shirt and tie combination and the Purell dispenser. Also the wall decorations. Must be a terrific place to work.

Holy shit, thank you Thrill.
Now find me a blog that tracks people who say "I could care less" when they mean they couldn't care less and I can die a happy man.
don't let lack of happiness stop you. Seems to me that would be a motivation
