Verum or dunkel?

Verum is usually what's available, but I prefer dunkel.  Not that I don't like verum.

I can't drink the Warsteiner verum ... I don't generally like pilsners at all, and the Warsteiner just tastes far too bitter for me.

The dunkel, on the other hand, tastes like beer was meant to be made no other way. What a wonderful beverage (brought a six-pack to last night's employee Christmas party, actually).

The dunkel?

I've had 12 Warsteiner dunkels in my fridge for about 3 years.  It seems like the verum is more available, but the bitter description is pretty accurate.  So is the description about dunkel being like beer wasn't meant to be made any other way.  Warsteiner also has a premium brew which is supposed to be just another Bud type, but the dunkel is good enough to not have to consider trying any other type.

Yeah, that's right Pancho.  We're pontificating about the greatness of Warsteiner dunkel.  Y'wanna case race or somethin'!?

Isn't that Warsteiner Premium (or Fresh, I forget the name) just their N/A brew?

Yeah, I couldn't remember what its gimmick was.  The only thing I remembered was that it was American brew-ish, which is where I drew my comparison of it to Budweiser from.  I had read on it at some point, when all stores in town had suddenly stopped carrying dunkel.  I never did find anything that was quite on its level, but thankfully dunkel did make a return later down the road.  Either way, gimme a dunkel any day.

Ah, it doesn't matter what you drink, it's all just warm piss in the end.

Maybe.  Though you have to admit, Pancho's piss is probably warmer and better than yours.

Damn, I'm joining this party late, but I'll still throw in my 2 cents...

Goose Island Christmas Ale anyone?

Shit Beer: Fat Cat - that is the worst beer I have ever had.  My old roommate found a twelver of it in Minneapolis.  The can is orange with a purple cartoon cat on it.  Looks like a can of orange crush.

I just want to say how impressed I am that no one here has mentioned Heineken.  If one could have a genuine hatred for a beer, I do and it's for that crap.

I think this stuff is a malt beverage, but I'm a fan of Steel Reserve when I'm looking for something cheap with a high alcohol content.
