Does anybody know anybody in the Palm Bay, Florida, area? This is not a drill.
I am in Merritt Island which is 20 minutes from there.
How much of a humanitarian are you? My brother is in a psych ward and his epileptic girlfriend is penniless and has been kicked out by her family. I need to arrange shelter until we can get her to the Salvation Army 45 minutes away.

Still, I think it's a validation of the only-site hypothesis.

Alright, I have an outside shot at moving up north. I'm trying to look at the feasibility of the move, as there are a few factors involved (Such as, me not being able to sell my house until May 2012 or I have to pay the gov't 8 grand, which is about the main one). I need to figure out what I'll do about that, either pay for it until May, and then sell, sell right now, and pay back the $8000, or try to find ways for me to earn some money from the house while I wait to sell it (which is kind of against the IRS's rules).
Anyway, the main thing is that I'm looking at some studio apartments in the Lincoln Park/Lakeview range, and some of them seem reasonable for what I want to do since I may be on a budget if I am paying for two separate living locations. One that I found, that was on Sheridan, claims to be around $875/mo with utilities included. So, can I expect that this place has no room at all? I'm thinking that I could be fine on something that has about 600 sq ft of room, but I dunno for sure.
So, for the best bang for my buck, am I looking in the right place? Wrong place? What is the amount of space that a studio can have to where it doesn't feel like I'm living in a closet?

No. How much of a commute are you willing to suffer?
[Edit.--I'm thinking broadly of Pilsen and Bronzeville, but that has to do with where I am. I walked back from the clinic at 43rd and Greenwood last Tuesday, and it was completely cool. Don't expect 600 square feet from a studio unless it's explicitly stated--my overpriced "one bedroom" is only 650 sq. ft.]

Anyone interested in buying a house somewhere in the $8000 range? I'll even leave the partially paid mortgage in it.
Or maybe I should just try eBay'd

If bang-for-your-buck is your criterion, you're looking in the wrong place.

I am looking bang for the buck, but I suppose at the same time, I can't get too much cheaper than that without being in a complete shithole (although there is no guarantee the one I mentioned isn't a shithole)

Isn't Chad's place a 2 bedroom? Yeti and Chad tagteaming the waitresses across Chicagoland sounds like a good idea.

This is so bad, I'd root for the Orioles over this fucking team, but I can't. Because they're a fucking drug and you can't kick it and they'll never win anything and they'll always suck, but it'll always be sunny at Wrigley and there will be tits and ivy and an old scoreboard and fucking Chads.

My point was just that Lincoln Park isn't exactly the first place to go looking for a bargain.
