One thing that is not rancid about the NLC is Andrew Mccutchen. The guy got absolutely boned not making the All-Star gheyme.

Pujols to maybe return early. Like, before the All-Star Break early:

http://eye-on-baseball.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/22297882/30387610

QuoteBut Pujols could be back with the Cardinals prior to the All-Star break in a shocking development reported by the St. Louis-Post Dispatch.

A CT scan performed Friday showed a much-diminished fissure on Pujols' left radius. If a follow-up exam on Monday shows sustained improvement in the wrist, Pujols will be cleared to resume baseball-related activities. That would ensure a return right after the All-Star break, although the best-case scenario has Pujols appearing in an upcoming four-game series with the Diamondbacks just prior to the All-Star break.

"Shocking?" Haven't we seen this before? Yes, we have...

I wish I had time to sketch out all the complete and utter bullshit in the following comments. I hate the fucking Cardinals so much. I'm not even anti-PED. It's just that they don't even try to cover their tracks anymore and yet Pujols is just now starting to look a little bit questionable to the national scribes. My asspain is so palpable I could fuel jumbo jet with it right now.

Quote"I'm sorry that's the case," McGwire said. "Unfortunately it is. The testing they do now is remarkable. Major League Baseball has done what it's needed to do. With all the social media today, people have an opinion on everything. People are going to say things. They don't know Albert. They don't know Bautista personally. They don't know the desire to be the best in the game."

I'd be more impressed if Albert arose after three days instead of 2 1/2 weeks.

Here's hoping tonight is the first game of many games that the Genius puts Korey and his sub-.300 OBP in the leadoff spot for the Kyardnulls.

Gee, I really miss Ryan Theriot...

http://www.stltoday.com/sports/baseball/professional/article_80ab5f6f-21af-5b3d-bc7a-f75a574bc33f.html

It's buried in the story but Theriot had this to say about moving to second base when St. Louis picked up Rafael Furcal:

"When I was playing shortstop we were in first place. I know that. It is what it is."

Of course, the Team PED's winning percentage has actually gone up 60 points since they acquired Furcal, they've just been victims of the Brewers' getting red hot.

The Cardinals spent a lot of time in first place with Ozzie Smith at shortstop. Maybe they should play him there.

I enjoyed how the writer set up that quote by noting they actually fell out of first while he was still the SS.
