Isn't the Tribune Company a Delaware Corporation?

any DuPonts want to buy the Cubs?
No, but back in 1988, Pete DuPont told me that the answer to high school drug use was mandatory drug testing for high school students.

He told me this at a bar in Iowa City.  How he ever missed out on being president still confounds.

The Fieldhouse?

Once Bob Dole revealed that Pete's real name was Pierre, it was all over.

Yeah, but Pierre's more liberal than you think.  He wanted to give drugs to any of the students who tested negative.

Believe it or not, Dooley's.  I think it's now called One Eyed Jakes.

He wasn't exactly drawing big crowds.

One key member of the 2008 Cubs comes off the DL, another goes on.

Standing O, anyone?

Oh, here's a Tweet from Steve Stone:

Aramis Ramirez will probably strike out more than Derosa during this wknds series w/ cards. Hendry loves Ramirez though. Nice choice.

If this is your new schtick, I love it and I hope it continues ad nauseam.

Should have traded him for Cesar Izturis.

Albie should have warned him to be careful during the first load week.

Derosa's done for the year.  Maybe.  Or something.  A torn tendon sheath sounds pretty bad.  Is that in the wrist?

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Mark DeRosa is "suffering from a torn tendon sheath that casts doubt on his return" following the All-Star break.

Analysis:
Quote
More deception and shadiness from the Cardinals' medical staff. General manager John Mozeliak told reporters Tuesday afternoon that DeRosa's placement on the disabled list was a "precautionary move," but now it's not clear if he'll be able to return before the end of July. "I don’t know all the jargon. But there is definitely something wrong with it," DeRosa said Tuesday. "There is definitely a partial tear of the sheath. It’s one of those things where you hope time allows it to heal itself."

What the fuck is it about DeRo? Some fuckstick in the comments thinks he's good for 20-25 HR.

It can't just be stubble that makes people think that way, can it?

He's a nice guy to have as a super-sub type, but I don't even think he could hit 25 HR sharing needles with Albie.

It might be the fact that he hit 21 in 2008 and 23 in 2009.
