I barely even pay attention to the Cubs anymore.  And it's the first week of May.  I'll just keep watching the Cardinals.

Kill yourself.

I came to a scary realization today.  If I was a kid now, I'd be a Cardinals fan.  The Cubs are never on TV around here anymore, and we're stuck with FS Midwest with the annoying announcer who pronounces "Cardinals" as "Kyardnulls."  Thank Gord the Cubs were actually on TV when I was little, or I'd be a full-blown member of Red Meth Moran Nation by now.  That said, it is pretty enjoyable watching Roy Halladay mow down the Kyards so far.

I fucking hate this guy. So glad I'm not the only one that hears this. It's really subtle and I thought I was losing my mind.

What kind of god would allow young children to pin their hopes on the Chicago Cubs?

Last week my 2 1/2 year old grandson sat down next to me to watch "baseball" on the TV.  Since I am his "Zeyde" and have certain obligations to him, I patiently explained that it was not "baseball", it was the Cubs.  He immediately understood and got up to go outside to play.

The fucking Cubs suck, man.  I'd rather enjoy the season by watching good baseball.  And, of course I'm only kidding about the Cardinals.  I usually just watch MLB Network to see all the live look ins from around the league.  It's kinda cool.  The Cubs...they just...suck.  And they're uninteresting as fuck.

I'll never be able to stop watching these clowns but I'm dangerously close to hopping on the Twins bandwagon thanks to the MLB Extra Innings package.

I went to college in the Cities.

My brother still lives there.

They kick the shit out of the White Sox.

What's not to like?

Thanks to the MLB package I've even caught myself watching the fucking Padres the other night just so I could listen to Dick Enberg. Same with the Dodgers & Vin Scully.

If it gets to the point I'm watching the Royals I may need therapy.

The Cubs are mediocre as hell. They don't suck. But now I'm just arguing semantics. It's interesting that you're frustrated though - that means you care more than you're letting on. I don't know if that's a good thing.

You've got the Saints starting up soon. Some of us have the Hawks to distract us.

It'll be interesting to see the mood around here once hockey is over, football is still a month or so away, and all we've got are the Cubs.

I am frustrated.  That's because I want my favorite team to win.  And, if they can't do that very well, at least make it interesting.  But, they're just not.  They just lay there and waste good pitching.  And, I love baseball season.  It blows when my favorite team is completey uninteresting.  I've been a Cubs fan all my life, but this is the first time I've been truly indifferent to them.

Let's play video games.

I'll watch shitty shitty indoor football before I'll watch the Cubs right now.

Fuck, I didn't think of that.

My brother is a Bears fan and hates the Vikings with a white hot passion. Almost as much as he hates the fucking Packers. He is a beacon of intelligence in sea of idiots up there.
