Alabama Shakes. Though I saw them on Best Buy's instore TV feed, so they might be more known than I assume (my assumption is none cause they don't get play in Dinglehick, IL)
I'm getting in on this one early. Fuck this boring ass buzz band and all their boring songs. Slak hates what I hate. Except for Chris Cooper. I don't get that. I guess I can reconsider.

but getting back to South America for a moment... "In The Land of Silver Souls" by Capsula.
Because you never have enough psychadelia from Argentina.
I bet there are a ton of great bands from South America that never see the light of day up here. They love rock and roll down there. The Tamborines. Shoegaze-y psych with sweet pop melodies from the UK via Brazil. I've probably listened to their track "Sally O'Gannon" a hundred times since finding it on the internet five years ago and still haven't grown to hate it at all.

Or cueing it up, if you're a regular Mike See.

Bit early Blur-ry, bit MBV-ey, and there's something else in there that's very reminiscent of somebody else, too, but I can't quite put my finger on it. Pixies?

I was just told to check them out. Good stuff. I was also told to check out Awolnation and Imagine Dragons. All three are splendid, to me. Awol and Imagine, I'm going to see in September at The Pageant in St Louis
