In L.A.  Had a burger at a joint in the Los Feliz neighborhood last night called Umami Burger.  I had something they called a truffle burger.  They put a truffle glaze on the burger and some other delicious, truffle cheese.  No, I'm not sure what truffle cheese is.

Good clean burger that they undercooked a little, which was fine by me.

The sweet potato fries came with a garlic aoili that was closer to mayo that usual aoili is, but they were awesome, too.

If in LA, I can recommend this joint.

Did you go to California or something?

Yes.

I'm having a hard time trying to figure out which one of your beautiful landscape pictures you put on facebook to use as my desktop wallpaper.

You can't go wrong with any of them.

Use the one where he's posing like a fag Takei.

I ended up choosing the pic with Oleg, the lizard, clay aiken and van cleef eating moonpies near the hollywood sign.

You read it wrong.  It's "Yo Mama Burger".

While going over old territory, it should be noted that the Burger from Kuma's can nearly mend a Cub's fan broken heart.  More important, the patio is now open, so if you get there before 5:30 on a weekday, there is actually no line.

S&G steak and eggs for breakfast + Kuma's Corner for dinner + Scooter's custard for desert = not giving a shit what happened between 1:20 and 4:15.

HuffPo links to a terrible slideshow of National Geographic's rankings of the 10 best burgers in America.

I've only had one on the list (In N' Out) but I'm pretty sure this list is awful.

What a load of fucking bollocks.  So, of America's ten best burgers, not one of them is to be found between Albuquerque and New York?  What the fuck does National Geographic know about burgers anyway?  Fucking imbeciles.

That list blows with one exception.  Gott's Roadside (also known as Taylor's Refresher) in St. Helena California is the real deal.  Its a damned tasty burger.

Lotaburger is pretty damn good, but New Mexico's best burgers are at the Buckhorn Tavern.
