Red Dead Redemption
« on: February 05, 2009, 11:34:36 AM »
Red Dead Revolver was, without a doubt, the best Western game I've played, and it was one of my overall favorites on the original Xbox.  It's backwards-compatible on the 360 for you guys interested in trying it out, and it's only $5 used.  Rockstar is making a sequel called Red Dead Redemption for the 360 and PS3 due out this fall.  It's going to be open-world, sandbox style Western game.  Hopefully, they will keep the old controls and not make it control like GTA IV.

So you say.

Anyway, I saw this yesterday and thought to myself, I says, "Self, that game sounds familiar."  Anyway, I thought Red Dead Revolver was a 360 title, but I was wrong.  I checked out some of the screenshots of Red Dead Redemption and it looks flat out amazing.  I hope the screens aren't CGI.  The producers were saying in a bit from IGN or TeamXBOX that they were extremely happy with the way their development team has stretched the bounds of the open-world, sandbox genre with the visuals and...I guess, open-worldedness.

It's due out Fall 2009.

Much to my surprise, this thread has nothing to do with whether or not the WardOn's ghost would be chasing Red.

My must-haves for the remainder of 2009:
1.  Ghostbusters
1a.  Beatles Rock Band
2.  Red Dead Redemption
3.  Beyond Good and Evil 2
4.  Dead Rising 2
5.  BioShock 2

Jury's still out:  Wolfenstein, Dark Void (I think this game could end up being pretty badass), Fight Night Round 4, Assassin's Creed 2, Deus Ex 3, Half-Life 2: Episode III
