This is the first decent Cubs game I've watched all year.  Or was.  We'll see.

If I were getting FYC'd more often, maybe this team would be, you know, good.

Fuck you for thinking Soriano and his .908 OPS is somehow not helping this team be good. And even though fielding stats aren't perfect, fagstats say he's been about average, just a little above it in the field. He's good this year. The team is inconsistent and shitty. Not his fault.

He fits right in.

No, see - he's been consistent and good. So he doesn't fit in at all.
He's played 58 games this year.

First 20 games this year:
BA   OBA   Slug%   OPS   SB%   AB/HR
.292   .356   .508    .864    100.00   32.50

Second 19:

BA   OBA   Slug%   OPS   SB%   AB/HR
.354   .417   .723    1.140    100.00   13.00

Third 19:
BA   OBA   Slug%   OPS   SB%   AB/HR
.175   .264   .397    .661    100.00   21.00

So, we have: Good, Great, Shitty.

Sounds like inconsistent to me.

Quote
Confirmation bias (or myside bias) is a tendency for people to favor information that confirms their preconceptions or hypotheses, independently of whether they are true.[1][2]  This results in people selectively collecting new evidence, interpreting evidence in a biased way, or selectively recalling information from memory.

You sound like one of those crazy soccer haters.. Seriously, pull up anyone's numbers. You'll find nuances like that. I'm sure Pujols has numbers like that this year since he's been "average". Soriano's been pretty good. Even when he's been shitty in the last 19 games, he's been about Derrek Lee. The fact that this team sucks is in no way a reflection on Soriano's play.

Chuck just likes his .300 hitters to get a consistent 1.2 hits in 4 at-bats each game, 162 times a season. Is that too much to ask?

What's the over/under on FYS's this year?

Figure 25 homers plus about 10 other "key" hits all year, so 35?
