He was killed in a home-birthing accident.

I heard he took his own life after he and Mrs. Indolent Reader absentmindedly crushed their infant while bumping uglies.

"Plummer, in 1999, "contributed" 1,017 fewer yards to the Cardinals than the league average QB would have brought to the table. As far as modern seasons go, Plummer's '99 stands as the worst."

There's no such thing as a home-birthing accident.

The 1985 Bears and the 1972 Dolphins and the 1955 Dodgers look like they'd just as soon fade into the woodwork next to the 2005 White Sox.

Well the appearance of Dickie Simpkins--aka the Shittiest Bull on all 6 Title Teams--at Wrigley Field as a featured 7th inning celebrity last week suggests that the 90's Bulls may yet still run down the '85 Bears as the most irrepressible and gravy trainish.  For my part, I expected these guys to go full exposure  immediately after Title Number 6 but I guess if you can milk it elsewhere for a while, you can always come back to Chicago.  I'm sure when he winds up a little down on his luck, Steve Kerr will call Chicago home for at least a couple years.

Geoff Blum is immortalized in bronze. Podsednik jerseys are still in ample supply. When the Bears build a monument to Reggie Phillips, or the Bulls immortalize Steve Kerr in bronze, call me.

Breaking news from my Sox fan "friend" on facebook: the Cubs did not pitch a perfect game today!

I just don't get their obsession with the Cubs.

Humber needs an * after his name. No fucking way was that a swinging strike to end the game.

And if that dumbshit runs instead of standing there arguing he probably beats the throw.

That's not Humber's fault. He made some great pitches in the 9th, especially when behind in the count.

Here is an interesting thought: How many perfect games have been day games? Humber, Buerhle, Braden, Cone, Wells, Martinez, Witt... Is it just a day game after a night game effect? Any thoughts?

I rewatched the 9th on MLB.tv and not once did Fox show a replay from the first base side so you could tell if Ryan went around or not. Maybe that camera op just missed it. Or maybe Reinsdorf and his puppet Selig told them not to.

I saw the replay from the broadcast booth camera above home plate and from there it looked like the wrists broke the plane, but either way, it feels like a call that an umpire would give a guy on what would be the final pitch of a perfect game.

This is so bad, I'd root for the Orioles over this fucking team, but I can't. Because they're a fucking drug and you can't kick it and they'll never win anything and they'll always suck, but it'll always be sunny at Wrigley and there will be tits and ivy and an old scoreboard and fucking Chads.
