This is about as close as you can get to the 1985 Cubs.

I think I just heard Rick Sutcliffe's hamstring snap again.

I thought Kosuke was good again. I'm a little worried about Ramirez. Should I be?

No, but yes on Theriot, Soriano and Soto.

I'm not worried about Theriot.

Actually, that's not true. I'm worried he'll still be here at the end of the season.

We already know Soriano is a complete suckass.  Theriot should be okay, but I'm a little worried about Soto.  Ramirez has hit the ball hard in most games I've seen so far (two).

I'm not worried about the rotation, but I'm terrified of the bullpen.

So Ramirez has no lingering effects in that shoulder right now? That's reassuring. It always helps to talk to you guys.

I would think any questions about the shoulder would have disappeared when he hit .304/11/49/.381/.496/.877 in his 64 games after returning last year. If anything, I'd say this is just a bad April for him where he's struggled to get his timing down. His pitch selection hasn't been that awful, he's just been slightly ahead or behind when he gets his pitch to hit. A lot of balls fouled back or popped up. He was limited a bit in the spring for some minor injury and he's just slightly behind. He's had some slow starts before. He was the balls in April the last couple years but in 05 and 06 he posted lines of .241/4/14/.344/.458/.802 and .197/4/10/.321/.394/.716 before going on to have great years.

DPD. My problem with Soto is his tentativeness. He did well yesterday just to take two walks when they weren't going to give him anything to hit, but in most of the at-bats I've seen where they even pitch to him, the best pitch he gets to hit is the first one and he never swings at it.

Did he spend the winter working with Sandberg?

Has GorzeSloth always been topping out around 92-93 on his fastball?  It seemed like he had a little extra on it.
