* Leonard Cohen, Oct 29, Rosemont Theater
* Monsters of Folk, Oct 30, Auditorium Theater
That Trail of Dead show may also find its way onto my list.
I kinda want to check out Monsters of Folk. I saw Conor Oberst with the Mystic Valley Band at the Metro in July.
*Dinosaur Jr. Oct. 15 at Vic Theatre

Black Crowes.
Keller Williams, Oct. 17th. Park West.
Like it's a habit, or something. I bartended a show of
hers
, about the same time of year, same place, back in 2001.
I guess the Steely Dan shows next are still considered "late summer." Because everybody loves Steely Dan.
I know I'm drunk. Are you?

I wish. Just stuck on Getty Images' website for way too long.
Google'd "her," and I remember this "act." What limp wrist was I confusing it with? Either way, the fact remains, and I made no money.

I think I'm going to try for the three-concerts-in-three-nights thing, ending with Dylan at the Aragon on Oct 31.
Tickets on sale Saturday, so there's still time for me to fuck it up.

Reminder post!
I just picked up tickets to Dylan for the 31st. Good job pointing out the show.
I saw him about 5 years ago at the Iowa State Fair of all places. And despite the
terribleness of the venue, it still blew my fucking mind.

I really want to see Dylan but I spent last Halloween at the Aragon seeing the absolutely miserable Kings of Leon. Still...

Apparently there is now a dance remix of their new songs.

Nov. 20-21 Pixies Doolittle tour at the Aragon. Playing the entire album, all B-sides for Doolittle singles and "other Doolittle related material. I'm driving back to Chicago for that one since they aren't playing Detroit.

I have no idea why the idea of a live "La-La-Love You" excites me so much.

Saw Alice in Chains this weekend at the House of Blues...pretty good show. The new singer, William DuVall, holds his own quite well and they played 90% old shit anyway. It sounded excellent.
I thought it was pretty cool how the three surviving band members still have shoulder length hair. Relics, they are.
Anyway, they said they'd be back pretty soon. If you ever liked Alice in Chains I'd highly recommend checking them out next time around. They even played Junkhead.

Saw Rodrigo y Gabriela last night at the Riv.
Great show, unbelievable musical talent, creative and a blast to watch live.
Sold out show with a very enthusiastic crowd.
They played a mix of their previous releases and the new album 11:11 which is a tribute to 11 musicians that have influenced them.
They were joined by Robert Trujillo about half way into the show for four numbers.
And while I'm not a huge Metallica fan I had a smile on my face because it did indeed fucking kick ass.

Fine, it's now winter, and these shows stretch in spring. So what?
2/6 - North Mississippi All Stars, Cubby Bear
3/25 - Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Metro
4/1 - Spoon, Aragon
There may be more. 2010, the year of the live show.
