The NCAA Tournament gets four play-in games! Weeeeeeeee!

But buried in the lede is news that TBS, Tru and TNT get a piece of the tourney with CBS.

Maybe Chip Caray and Billy Packer can pair up for a few games?

Better than a 96 game tourney at least.  TBS is really on the muscle, first Conan and now the Final Four.

96 is gonna hai.  Too much money and too many bidders for the extra round.

And more cash flow for mobile television truck companies.

But at least we get one more year of the almost current system. Four play-in games is fine with me. Nobody pays attention to the one they have now, or the 16 seeds anyway. As long as I get my bracket on a 8.5x11 piece of paper I'm happy.

It's a matchup between the Battlin Blue Devils and the Wily Wildcats.

Probably eventually, but Sean McManus from CBS said that 68 meets their current (weasel word) programming and financial needs; I'm sure we'll see 96 before the 14-year contract expires, but maybe not until 2014 when TBS's role expands.
