Anyway.  What do you guys think about Jim Deshaies so far?

Vanilla has never been my favorite flavor.

I don't have a problem with DeShaies so far.  I get the impression that he's easing himself into the role - which Borb did too, if you remember.  DeShaies seems to know his onions and isn't grating on me.  You can call it vanilla if you like but if the alternative is somebody like Chip fucking Caray, give me vanilla every time.  I think he will be fine.

I think Deshaies' primary appeal is that he's really embraced advanced metrics, which may not be the most important thing to Stew. Hence, the accusations of vanilla.

I will not stand for this badmouthing of vanilla.  It's a delicious flavor.

That's kind of why I posted it here.  Not EVERYTHING is about you, Eli.

I like him and he's had some funny lines.  I positive.  They could do a lot worse.

Endorsed.

Seconded.

I don't need gregariousness.  Gregarious leads you down a path that eventually leads to Glenn Kozlowski.  I think Deshaies is not only solid, but as he continues to ease into it, that we'll see a pretty good sense of humor.  There're hints of it now.  Give it some time.

We need to look at him the same way we look at the players on the roster. Can he help me watch the Cubs win games in 2014-15? If not, good bye. If you're watching games right now and not overly thrilled with him, I would ask why you're doing that. Stop that.
