Possibly adding to the confusion, the whole green font thing (while apparently a somewhat widespread internet tradition) was itself, if I'm not mistaken, only adopted sarcastically from another (and altogether different) internet message board website (to remain nameless), where it appeared to be used as a rhetorical crutch for the tragically unfortunate.

For our purposes here, it seems best suited for sarcastically highlighting instances of obvious sarcasm for the benefit of those dimmer Desipiots (read: "the Iowans") who may otherwise be given to asking such odd and fundamentally unanswerable questions as, "are you serious, Fork?"

Please use judiciously.

Sandberg will probably never get a shot at managing unless he leaves the Cubs, like Don Mattingly and the Yankees.

The minute you hire a manager, the clock is ticking down the minutes until you fire that manager.

Jim Hendry didn't want to have to be The Man Who Fired Ryne Sandberg.

Every rule has exceptions. Don't forget Joe Torre (not tchnically fired) in New York.
