What are some good beers people have been drinking lately? I've been drinking high life for the most part.

Been drinking Wake Up Dead Nitro and Ten Fidy at home since winter set in.

Also went to the Lagunitas tap room this weekend and had a flight of NightTime, Maximus, Lagunitas Sucks and Imperial Stout. Those were good.

I drink tons of Lagunitas Sucks.

It's definitely a weekly purchase.

The other stuff I drink is mostly not available in Chicago, so I won't bore you.
If I lived there I'd probably just drink Zombie Dust until I was homeless.

My most recent purchases have included Ten Fidy and the always good Left Hand Milk Stout Nitro.  Also I've always liked New Holland's The Poet but I don't know if it's ever been mentioned here.

Finally, thanks to Pen for pointing out that he's such a Big Wheel down at the Beer Drinking Factory that he likes stuff you guys have probably never heard of.

It's just not available in Chicago, IDITO.

Also, I made it quite clear that you have a beer that I would drink and spend myself homeless for.

But fine, I have been drinking lots of:
Ballast Point Sculpin
Ballast Point Victory at Sea
Lagunitas Sucks
Firestone Velvet Merlin
Firestone Union Jack
Sierra Nevada Celebration
Duchesse De Bourgogne

Those the most.  You may be able to get Firestone there. Quite likely, actually.
Definitely Celebration.
Probably Duchesse.

I'm sure there are others, but those are the ones that are top of mind.

You can definitely get Firestone's offerings in Chicago - Velvet Merlin is now back in season and is terrific.

In conducting a quick exercise for Morph, I see that some of the Binny's in Chicago are carrying Sculpin.

It's pretty much the best IPA in the world, so you should all get it ASAP.

I pay $13.99 for a 6-pack of it here, so I would expect similar pricing.

Per Binny's website, they currently have it in:
Lincoln Park
South Loop
Des Plaines
Elmwood Park
Lake Zurich
I can't believe I even know these people. I'm ashamed of my internet life.

The Tribune carried this nugget today in an article about Kevin Youklis being hired for some made-up job by the Cubs,
"Youklis and his brother Scott recently bought a brew pub in the trendy town of Los Gatos, Calif., that they plan to reopen this summer."

Los Gatos?  Trendy?  A brew pub?  Los Gatos was lacking a place to go and drink overpriced beer?  Who knew?
Los Gatos is like a suburb of Palo Alto and San Jose, situated on Highway 101 between those two cities.  I guess that Youklis is counting on a loyal Red Sox constituency among the Stanfurdites on the Peninsula.
If I had known that I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself.   (Plagerized from numerous other folks)

Close enough compared to Chicago. Hey guys, have I invited you to my hip new gastropub in trendy Martinez yet?
You two wanna go stick your wangs in a hornet's nest, it's a free country.  But how come I always gotta get sloppy seconds, huh?

Abita Purple Haze.  Great hot day drink!  But I was told not to tell PEN.

This list showed up in my office email today. It lists all of the union-made beers in the U.S.  (Look for the union label...)   I have been laboring (no pun intended) under the mistaken impression that Coors was non-union.  I did buy a 6 pack of Blue Moon once and really liked it.  I needlessly felt guilty at the time.

After sampling a shitton of beers this weekend, Revolution's Mosaic Hero was as good as any of them.

Not sure if they bottle/can it (I see photos of bottles online) or if it's only available at the Brewery or if it's year-round or seasonal or whatever the deal is, but it's fantastic.

Would definitely drink it often if I lived in Chicago.

We get it, you got paid to attend a beer festival last weekend.

Andre Dawson paid his $1,000 fine for the Joe West incident with style. Dawson wrote ``Donation for the blind`` in the memo section of his personal check.

How's this?

http://www.newbelgium.com/beer/citradelic

It's a solid "okay."

I wouldn't go out of my way to get it, but it's drinkable.

Basically a poor man's version of Grapefruit Sculpin (except with Tangerine.)

Well the packaging does a nice job of making it look extremely refreshing.
