Horse DNA has been found in some beef burgers being sold in UK and Irish supermarkets, the Republic of Ireland's food safety authority (FSAI) has said.

The FSAI said the meat came from two processing plants in Ireland, Liffey Meats and Silvercrest Foods, and the Dalepak Hambleton plant in Yorkshire.

It said they posed no health risk.

Well, yeah - you never heard of Mad Horse Disease, did you?

You may be surprised to know* that horse meat salami is widely available here in the Netherlands.  When we first moved here I bought and ate it a couple of times without realising what it was.  It was, then, largely indistinguishable from beef salami - at least in my blind (ignorant) tasting.  I fucking hate horses anyway.

* By which I mean, of course, that what I am about to say will merely confirm all your worst prejudices about Europeans.

They told us 45 minutes on Saturday around 5:30, took us in 30. If the Cubs were in town, it would be worse. Of course, who'd be crazy enough to try going to Kuma's after a Cub game?

I've been to Kuma's after a Cubs' game, with Hawk, Oleg and Bort: the patio was open and there was no wait at all.  We all ate a Tonkful, and then went for frozen custard.  No, I think you mean "who would be crazy enough to try going to Kuma's at five o'clock on a Friday evening and then complain about the wait?"  Because you'd have to be a special kind of dimwit to do that.
