You know it will be someone of this caliber, right?

Fuck Rocco the hot dog guy. The real hot dog guy is unemployed: Mike North.

How can you be celebrating the firing of a man who had a real job in this economy? He toiled in penniless anonymity for 17 years and this is the thanks he gets? Sent packing with no hope in sight? How is he going to feed his kids? How is he supposed to look in the mirror now that the paychecks had stopped? Sure, they were meager but it was enough to put a few scraps on the table (less the lion's share that he ate before he'd get back from those Jewel runs). But now, he's got nothing. No job and no future. And we have the gall to laugh and celebrate? How dare we.

He'll probably never find work again and you'll all be sorry you whooped it up when you see him panhandling outside of Sluggers looking gaunt and pathetic. Go ahead. Throw him a dollar or two. It's the least you can do to make up for your reaction.

Maybe he can pawn his honorary street sign from Park Ridge.
Just a sloppy, undisciplined team.  Garbage.

I'm voting "other."

Rick Hahn isn't on any of their short lists.

Laura Ricketts' short list
Steve Phillips (he has asked her repeatedly to call him)
Sharon Pannozzo (Laura has actually called her)
Billy Bean (Not the A's GM)
Larry Himes

Tom Ricketts
Omar Minaya (he's recommended by Bud Selig)
David Littlefield (highly recommended by Jim Hendry)
Dan Evans (highly recommended White Sox assistant GM, Pen)
J. Joseph Ricketts (Dad!)

Todd Ricketts
Matt Millen (heavyweight, GM long time for time, on TV a lot)
Mark Dawson (shhh, trying to sneak that in)
Rocco the Hot Dog Guy (He'll be tough with payroll and hot dog sales)
Dale Tallon (employees talked highly of McDonough. Tallon worked for McDonough. Perfect fit?)

Pete Ricketts
Tom Osborne (only guy I trust. Nebraskan. Republican. Wins games.)
Hawk Harrelson (Tom, how about this failed GM? Can I go back to Omaha?)
Jerry Angelo (Todd, how about some crayons?)
Jim Essian (Ah, a folk hero we can get behind)

Hendry was doing a great job, hugging Pujols every chance he got, then this had to happen.

All those hugs, wasted.

On a related note, how soon until Duncan and the Genius announce this is their last season?

Ryne Sandberg?

You know, to show there's no hard feelings. Or maybe they promote Quade to GM and move Sandberg into the dugout.

I'm still getting caught up...what news of CT's beloved Oneri Fleita? Is keeping him on as minor league czar the one condition the new GM must accept to be hired?

I've heard Brian Cashman's name thrown out a couple times. Why in the world would any GM want to leave a team where he can spend money like it's about to spoil for the Cubs?
