Title: The Kid

Since Dolan reviewed George Will's book on Wrigley Field, I'd like to give Ben Bradlee Jr.'s large volume on Ted Williams a couple minutes.

There's a lot of stuff that's been glossed over in most baseball history books (Williams' mother was Mexican, Williams fought to get a deferment in 1942), but there's also a good chronicling of his career. He even had a good relationship with the Boston press once upon a time.

There's also a deep dive into his personal life, covered in interviews with his daughters and various women in his life. And of course, quite a bit on cryogenics. And his son was a fucking turd.

A really good study of a very complex man. I recommend it.
