OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

First of all, the 11 hits and two runs in 22 innings have just been a pleasure to watch. Not that we should be surprised at this point. 13th in the NL in runs scored, 11th in OPS, and last in average with RISP.

Second of all, while this team clearly needs some hitting, either from the current group of hoopleheads or outside the organization (even for, god forbid, a good right handed hitter), did anyone else think it's whiny of him to be bitching about it in the press? Or has the slapdick offense just put me in a foul mood?

Quote"The only thing I talked about last season was a need for a left- hand bat in a predominantly right-handed lineup who could hit the ball for power and drive in some runs," he said. "You look at our production last year and it was mainly from the right side.

"We didn't bring [ Jim] Edmonds back and Edmonds hit quite a few home runs, so we needed a left-handed bat. That's it. That was what I mentioned, that we could use a nice productive left-hand bat in the middle of our right-handed hitting."

Piniella paused for some time before finishing his thoughts and finally said:

"Look, we still need a left-hand bat who can hit for some power and drive in runs."

They won 97 games last year with a mostly right-handed hitting lineup.  The problem was that nobody--right or left-handed--hit in the playoffs.

Lou's starting to sound as stupid as Dusty.

Agreed. If Lee, Soto, Ramirez, and Soriano all were in the lineup and hitting like they did last year you wouldn't hear a god damn peep about left handed hitting.

I'd rather have this year's Lee. But understand where you're going.

DPLee is better this year than last year'd

He must have lost focus for a moment because he was thinking about how long his contract is.

(I mean, that's your beef with Soriano, right? The contract?)
A long contract to a bad player.  Short contracts to bad players are manageable.  I mean, Neifi Perez was tradeable.  A Sor is not.

What reason will you have to follow the Cubs when Soriano and Hendry are gone?
Winning.

Yeah, they sure haven't been doing a lot of that with Soriano around in October.

You suck.
What maters'd.

You're this Chucky, aren't you?

Chucky, or anybody –

Could you please explain to me why anybody in that clubhouse, or frontoffice, would want to keep that piece of crap on this team?

I can't Ernie. I have no explanation to give you. I went completely insane after he dropped that routine fly ball trying to hot dog it. The most pathetic part is that we're stuck with this shit-for-brains grinning idiot for about another 5 years. They won't just cut him, and team in their right mind will take him. Hendry has done an excellent job at completely fucking this team up. Fucking incompatant asshole GM.

And Yeti, by the way, the Cubs are DOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMED!!!!!!

God damnit, not only did he misspell capital, but how fucking perfectly Cardinal fan is it that he spent all that money on a custom Cardinals jersey, and used it to take a 101 years shot at the Cubs. Insecure fucktards.

Some of you act like you don't have a father. If you say you hope Santo dies, well I hope your father dies. Right in front of you and unexpectedly. For those of you whose fathers have already passed, I'm really sorry. I'm totally cool with him reducing his game schedule to about 6 innings a week and some pre and post game gurgling. But Jesus H. Christ, you guys could chill a little.

....Are you saying that Ron Santo is your father? Did you make This Old Cub?

Statfags. All of your mothers need 9 months to shit.

Are you suggesting that we were all born through our mothers' anal passages rather than the usual vaginal birth?  Moreover, does this imply in some way that we are, in essence, fecal matter rather than people?  I'm confused.

You're a faggot and you have absolutely nothing to add to this discussion. You're not funny and you're not clever. I don't have a problem with people disagreeing me as long as they're one of my sycophants 99 percent of the time, but someone like with you objective analysis and statistics proving me wrong? You're a faggot.

Ramirez will be tough to re-sign, and that will be a tough blow. But then again, he'll be 33 during the 2011-2012 offseason.

If Vitters keeps progressing like he has been, it'll be an easy decision to let Ramirez walk away.

If Ramirez hits like Ramirez until then, I don't see it being an easy decision at all. But probably a necessary one.

http://www.atlanticleague.com/cgi-bin/dist/news.cgi?id=1239729991 in case anyone was wondering what Moonlight Greenberg is up to these days. I'm sure there'll be some great games between Greenberg's Bridgeport Club and Bobby Hill's Newark Bears

We all know for a fact that the Cardinals fans were batshit happy every time Prior and Wood got hurt, so fuck 'em.

I wasn't celebrating this morning, as much I was just mocking them for their plight.

Every team has injuries (lord knows the Cubs do), some are just funnier than others.

THIS. I'm not saying if I'd been at Chase Field last night I'd have cheered as the guy was grimacing in pain on the mound. I wasn't cheering this morning. But the sympathy factor for a guy whose making 61 million to pitch in what, 6 games since his injury? is a little low. It's not like I'm delighting in his pain. I'm just delighting in the fact that it makes it a hell of a lot harder for those mouth breathers to talk about their SNEAK ATTACK everyday when I go home and my shirtless neighbor is mowing his lawn for the third time this week because lawn care and the Cardinals are what he found to waste his time on when he gave up drinking.

Carpenter leaves the game for the Cardinals with an injury. Words cannot express my surprise.
