I think there were positive in this game, believe it or not. Not many, but some. I don't think the Bears are finished by a long shot and I hope no one else does either. If they kept injury free today, they'll get healthier for Carolina and probably beat them up.

To call them finished is insane, but I'd definitely say they need to win the next 2. If they can beat the Panthers and the Lions and get back to 3-2, their stretch run isn't all that frightening. They need to get healthy enough on the offensive line to run the goddamn ball, though. Guh.
I will vow, for the sake of peace, not to complain about David Ross between now and his first start next year- 10/26/2015

So, was it the scorned ghost of Tim Shaw who held on that punt return?

I guess this can be the hold? At the 35, when the "penalty" happened at the 20.. and it took the flag a good 2 seconds to be thrown.

No they're not finished, but that might even be more frustrating. They could be pretty damn good with one decent receiver on the team. Rodgers has 4 or 5 guys he can throw to. Cutler's passes hit receivers in the face. In the damn face.

The Bears were terrible today and didn't deserve to win the game.

What's amazing, though, is that they were two calls (the holding penalty and the blown Pass Interference call on Woodson) from winning that game.

Schedule definitely gets easier from here on out.

eh, you can't really claim that, because if the PI didn't happen, then maybe there's a TD there, but if it gets called the Bears just have the ball at around the 50, right? What happens there is unknown. Then, if that PI gets called, the situation causing the punt return may have never happened. They were two calls I'm still pissed about, but if reveresed, the entire landscape of the game would have changed. Hell, the Bears could have gotten blown out after it.

I cannot believe the season is over after just three games. The Packers did exactly what I thought they were going to do. Cutler was carried off by stretcher at halftime, the pass defense did nothing as usual; Aaron Rodgers brought his I-Pass to Chicago and went 30/34 for 406 yards and three touchdowns. Tim Jennings has learned tremendously from Charles Tillman (Worthless) on how to be a shitty cornerback who does not know how to defend a wide receiver. FIND A RECEIVER AND STAY ON HIM YOU SON OF A BITCH. Cam Newton can't wait to go against this defense.

How stupid of me to get excited about this season.

But seriously...

I'm not gonna argue that the whole outcome turned on that holding call. Spot the Bears those 7 points and it's still long odds that they even tie the game, let alone come back to win it.

But, fuck me. That punt return was one hell of a fucking football play. And it's a shame to have something like that wiped from the boxscore on either a bullshit call by the refs or an utterly unnecessary jersey grab by Graham. Or both.

And how much are we gonna miss Dave Toub whenever he goes wherever he goes?

I thought the game was over the moment Martz trotted out the game plan that called for 4 yards rushing by the time I got up and left in a huff. The Bears should beat bad teams and lose to good teams all year long. Because they are mediocre as dick. What we don't know is who the good and bad teams are on the schedule because of that any given Sunday thing (also, Philly? Pffft.). So, I've resolved to just wait ans see how this all plays out.

Atlanta's not looking like the team we thought they were either.
Just a sloppy, undisciplined team.  Garbage.

So, according to my thinking, stupid as I am, the Bears will at best be 6-10. And conceivably, they could go 3-13. Don't let the game with Atlanta fool you. This team sucks. This coaching staff sucks. And the owners suck. If the Bears are to improve at all, that old bitch Virginia McCaskey has to die. As long as she's around, this will remain the trainwreck it is now.

Sorry, BH...SKO says they're going 11-2 the rest of the way.

That was a fucking awesome game. The offensive line was better than the sacks made them look. Webb had some issues and so did Carimi but I wouldn't say they looked bad most of the game. Cutler had time to throw and he had at least 6 seconds on 2 of those sacks in which to throw the ball away. The Cover 2 worked to perfection today. They dared Matt Ryan to try and beat them downfield and he was too scared. That was the weakest 300 yard passing game I've ever seen from an opposing QB. The run game looked good until they took out Forte to keep him from getting hurt in a blowout during his contract year. The defensive line was the strongest unit on the field as I had hoped. As for my prediction for this season I had them at 12-4. So we'll see. I think if they beat either the Saints or Packers in the next two weeks they make the playoffs no problem. If they win both they win the division.
