"Turns out this was her sister"

"Twin sister?"

"No, that's the peculiar aspect."

Without giving too of much the of the other scenes away... damn this show is the bee's knees.

Mickey is just the best. I love that it's basically an annual tradition that he's going to get the shit beat out of him somehow, someway.

Some really good thoughts on the show here:

http://seantcollins.com/tag/boardwalk-empire/

That's a pretty good recap R-V.

Mickey cracks me up in almost every scene he is in, could he be any more annoying?

With how prominently Dunn was featured this episode I kinda had a feeling.
But then just before the conclusion of the fight scene I thought "Oh, no this can't be happening".

EDIT: I just realized how badly I PANKED the last sentence of my original post.
Geez... more ice, less vodka next time.

The brutality of that fight brought to mind the epic Captain vs. Dan brawl in Deadwood. That will never be topped but this was at least in the same neighborhood.

Dan Doherty vs. The Captain is the most realistic and brutal fight ever shown on televison.

More realistic than Rocky vs. Apollo 1 and 2?

"I've been around many people who've been shot."

For the second episode in a row I thought Chalky may have bought it.
The A.R. / Margaret interplay and body language is entertaining as hell.
Knox showing up at Eli's house was not a smart move.
Narcisse / Chalky / Masseria, who survives?
Only two episodes left this season and lots of moving parts coming together.

Didn't she say at the end of last week's episode that it was called off? I wonder how the Nucky/Eli/Willie situation is going to shake out - can't imagine both Eli & Willie survive the season.

Yes it was called off that's what she was upset about and Narcisse picked up on it immediately.
That scene certainly wasn't creepy enough.

As far as Eli & Willie it might be Tolliver/Knox that doesn't survive.

I forgot about the scene with Narcisse, I think that was when I was catching my breath from some of the other stuff.

As for Eli/Willie/TolliKnox, I think the teaser for next week gave a pretty good indication on how that's going to play out.

I also think the Roy/Gillian storyline is going to take some bizarre twist. It's all going way too smoothly.

The real Enoch Thompson ended up in prison.

In 1941 - same year he remarried (as opposed to 1921 on the show). Winter has already acknowledged he was not being too strict with the historical timeline, so there would still be some suspense.

"THAT'S not why they fought the war, you too smart to be that dumb."

Louis Gossett Jr. knocked it out of the park with his performance, great casting.

And I learned a new word... "buckras".

Man, next week is going to be something, it sucks that it's already the last episode of the season.

I didn't even recognize Gossett.  He really merged into that character.

Eli's got himself in quite a pickle. Really interested to find out what Nucky's plan is...it's pretty obvious he's figured out that Eli's beholden to Knox, but not sure why he agreed to Eli's idea for the meet. Setting up Narcisse/Masseria for a fall perhaps?

That sounds right. Big meeting of the bosses with Nucky absent gets busted. That talk about Eli running things sounds like a plot to get him taken down as well. And in a Nucky shoots Jimmy kind of twist, Eli's kid gets nabbed and sent up too.

Nucky's not looking for forgiveness you guys.
