Those are the states Obama won in 2012. You need 270 to win and he got 332. So let's say all the red states go for Trump (and I don't think that's a certainty), and even give him Florida. That's still the Dems at 303-235. Trump would probably need to steal both Ohio and Virginia to win the GE, and I don't think he will take both. Virginia went for Obama both times, I doubt they'd go Trump.

And I'll grant you that it's well early for general election polling. But every single factor that was supposed to spell Trump's undoing has proven incorrect so far. Time to wake up.

He needs Ohio AND EITHER Pennsylvania or Virginia. Are you comfortable with that?

I'll concede that I'm not comfortable with any of this.

I don't think he'd get Pennsylvania. They haven't gone red since 1988.

Yes, the thought that he might actually win this is terrifying and people need to actively go out and vote and stop it but I don't think it's "complacency" to say he still probably won't win a general election if it hinges on Ohio and Virginia, which both went for Obama twice, or Pennsylvania, which hasn't gone red in 20 years.

I see Trump as the inevitable conclusion of the 8 years of OBAMA IS A SECRET KENYAN MOOSLIM frothy tea party outrage. If his supporters are mostly Obama reactionaries I don't think states that supported Obama will flip for him.

It's a flat-footed tie right now.

And it's Hillary fucking Clinton.

For what it's worth Obama led Romney by less than 2% in polls in PA in February, 2012, and then won the state 52-46.

I also think you in general Hillary opponents underestimate how popular she is (although her supporters also kind of overrate it). She couldn't beat Obama head-to-head but her strategy of running as basically a third Obama term will probably carry states that supported Obama.

Also John Kerry carried that state and you think Hillary can't? I am willing to bet Hillary has more support than Kerry ever had.

Actually according to SKO's count Ohio and Virgina only gives Trump 266.

So we're good. Phew.

I heard Kris Bryant on The Score this morning. He sounded great. Talked about pitch recognition and how that's been the key for him getting better. I got hard.

I think once we got to the debates it would be pretty goddamn entertaining.

2008: Obama 365, McCain 173
2012: Obama 332, Romney 206
2016: Obama 336, Trump 202 (Obama wins back NC, Trump wins Indiana.)
