Skip Haynes, the last surviving member of Aliotta, Haynes & Jeremiah, best known for their one-hit wonder "Lake Shore Drive" (which I unapologetically enjoy every time I hear it), has flown over the S-curve, age unknown.
His final wish was to have his ashes spread over the iconic road he and his bandmates immortalized in song. (https://www.dnainfo.com/chicago/20171005/austin/aliotta-haynes-jeremiah-skip-dead-song-lake-shore-drive-died)

Edit per the article: The song was included in the 2017 film "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2."
Aliotta, Haynes and Jeremiah are definitely a Local ThingTM.

And now you've added it to the thread, which is kind of the point.
See how that works?
