OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

Jocketty is certainly a huge upgrade, so here's hoping the purse strings stay as tightly drawn as ever.

Krivsky is out.  Damnit.  It's really early in the season to be axing a GM.

Weebs, all I meant was that the scene was incredibly similar to the one used in the BBC version, which is probably the reason Michael seemed like a jackass.  Observe.

Yahoo says Lee got injured. What happened?

Lou said on the postgame he had a strained neck, nothing to worry about, just took him out as a precaution since it was a blowout.

One of the first days at Wrigley when the tank tops were out.  Who can blame him?

Kudos to the writers on this episode.  It was incredible.  I figured at the end Michael was going to get closure with Jan, but they go to the grave of a woman who (if I read it correctly) had been dead for 5 years?  Brilliant.  It's like the dead bird all over again.  Also, Michael trying to back out of the meeting with Pam's landlady and having his drink served at the same moment had me crying.  I'm glad they've managed to keep Jim and Pam interesting after getting them together, though I have a feeling there will be some wedge to come between them sooner or later.

I found the scene with the landlady very interesting, as that was the first throwback to the BBC version I can remember since about the first season.

I'm glad DLee looks like he's going to prove me wrong.  Anytime Felix would like to hop on board that train would be ok by me too.

I'd be nice to hear from Chuck right about now, considering his petulant comparison of DLee to Mark Grace.

Oh, I forgot.  Chuck never admits when he's wrong.

Long gone, the days of the Cards-Astros love-in led by Matty Mouthbreather and the rest. Long gone.

Speaking of that douchecannon, the Cubs have a decent shot at the sweep tonight with Matty hurling from the mound.

He's gotta be good for another 30 or so Neifi League points.

I forgot he was a Pirate. No wonder there was nobody in the ballpark last night. What a horrible team to have to watch.

That was one of the weirdest trades in recent memory.

Back to D-Lee for a second.

He gets off to a hot start, then in one of his ABs Sunday, Len and Bob mention how he hadn't walked yet this season. Well, sure enough, he walks. Then I watch yesterday afternoon and he gets caught looking on some close pitches. It reminded me of the long stretches last season when he would get buzzed repeatedly on the outside corner, often taking called third strikes (and his numbers were a little "down" for him). One might theorize that D-Lee is better off being aggressive in the strike zone and not trying to coak walks or take chances on borderline outside-corner pitches.

Like Mike D said, I think his wrist still bothered him last year, and he couldn't drive those outside pitches.  Given that, he was probably better off taking the close pitches instead of just dribbling them to the right side or rolling over them.

If the pitchers keep going away from him, I think we'll see him adjust and start driving the ball the other way.  He's too smart not to do that.

Intrepid Reader: Chuck
No, he wasn't driving those pitches last year because he's Mark Grace now.

Phil Rogers ranks the Satanic Fowl #7 in his first "Power Rankings" poll. He's all excited over their 5-1 start. What he doesn't mention is that it was done at home against the Rockies (2-1) and a sweep over the Nationals (and the back of their shitty rotation). Washington is god-awful, but they may be better than the SF Giants.

Man, you aren't kidding.  That Giants lineup is insanely bad.

Bump. Hey, hey did go 4-for-4 this afternoon, right?

TDubbs is calling it: .330 and 35 jacks for Derelict this year.  I'm hoping he's right.

Bump-san

A two run double on a picture perfect at bat, which followed a perfect bunt that lead to a run.  Fuke has more than a clue out there (and the Cubs come back from 3 down to 2 up).

That bunt single was the splooge-worthiest thing I've seen a Cubs hitter do since Aramis' 3-run "Ohhh, BABY!" against the Brewers last year.

Okay guys, maybe one of you can help me out here: I'm looking for the Sammy Sosa / Jason Giambi Pepsi commercial from about 5-6 years back where they try to hit the farthest home run while on a mountain.  Sammy thinks he won, until a Sherpa guide finds a ball hit by Babe Ruth.

Some dialog from the commercial:

Giambi: "Best two out of three."
Sosa: "I don thin so."
Sherpa: "Who Babe Ruth?"

If anybody can find it, i'll give you ten million theoretical dollars.

I know this doesn't help, but I actually had that commercial on my old computer. Too bad I got rid of that computer just a few months ago. I could have actually been of use on this website, for once.

Holy God this post sucks.  I tried to find that commercial and failed, hammerman.  God speed.

I hear you, Kerm.  I tried my hardest, delving deep into the internets, but I couldn't come up with it either.

I know if Thrillho can't find it, it can't be found.
