OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

Okay guys, maybe one of you can help me out here: I'm looking for the Sammy Sosa / Jason Giambi Pepsi commercial from about 5-6 years back where they try to hit the farthest home run while on a mountain.  Sammy thinks he won, until a Sherpa guide finds a ball hit by Babe Ruth.

Some dialog from the commercial:

Giambi: "Best two out of three."
Sosa: "I don thin so."
Sherpa: "Who Babe Ruth?"

If anybody can find it, i'll give you ten million theoretical dollars.

I know this doesn't help, but I actually had that commercial on my old computer. Too bad I got rid of that computer just a few months ago. I could have actually been of use on this website, for once.

Holy God this post sucks.  I tried to find that commercial and failed, hammerman.  God speed.

If Kerm was in the bleachers, it might not have been so bad.  Like I said I remember it being freezing in the shade.  It was also May 30th or May 31st.

Steering the topic back on, well, topic, I suggest that, if we wind up going inside the park as a group, that whomever pledged their appearance for the rooftop get first dibs at what likelywill  be a more finite number of people.

That is, if group sales are even still available.

I was on a rooftop.  What the hell is wrong with you lately?

Also, was at my cousin's baby's baptism when Kermy met Sally.  Cold as shit in the shade.

I also believe that game was one of the two instances thats season that Corey Patterson was IBB'ed in front of Sosa.  Imagine that.

Both times, Sosa failed to answer the affront to his gladiatorness.

Really?  I thought I remember being in shorts and a t-shirt.  But I've been wrong before.  Ask Mrs. Kerm.

Beyond The Ivy is around $165/head.

Brixen Ivy is around $150/head.

Anyone been to either?

I've been to Brixen Ivy.  The assholes didn't even let us into the building until the top of the 2nd inning (I was screaming bloody murder).  It was the May 31st game in 2003 against the Astros that went 16 innings when they intentionally walked Patterson to get to Sosa, who finally won it with a bloop base hit over Jeff Kent.  Anyhow, my buddy and I were the only ones who stayed until the end.  I understand that they couldn't legally keep giving us booze, but they wouldn't even make us a freaking chicken sandwich.

Incidentally, that was the day I met Mrs. Kerm.

If I have a vote, I would go for inside the park, at this point.  I bet more people would go, since it'd be far cheaper, and we wouldn't have to deal with some of the douches who run the rooftops.

Let's just go sit at a bar and watch it across the street?  Beers are cheaper.  THey're $6.25 now inside

You mean like you did for the 8th, 9th, and 10th innings on Monday?  Pussy.

Just pool your money, get one really good hooker and share whilst watching the game on TV in a swank suite downtown. Everybody wins.

Speaking of HJE - Where the hell is it? It won't show up for me this morning.

Andy's money order still hasn't arrived at GoDaddy, so all the rest of us are screwed now.

The ball skipped in the dirt away from Kendall, but unfortunately it hit Soto and bounced right back to Kendall.  Fukkake actually got a good read on it, but it was bad luck.  I liked the way he tried to bait Kendall.

Why the hell was Crane Kenney ALL OVER the goddamn place?

Also, It's Gonna Happen Guy must be stopped.

From the Jockey:
Quote
When Kosuke Fukudome hit a three-run homer off Milwaukee closer Eric Gagne to tie the season opener in the bottom of the ninth inning Monday, fans all over Wrigley Field held up professionally made signs with English words on one side and Japanese on the other.

It was meant to be a two-sided version of the phrase "It's Gonna Happen." But something got lost in translation, and the Japanese side read: "It's An Accident."
Doh

Holy shit, that's awesome.

Awesome and really sad.  All the Japanese watching probably thing we are just a complete bunch of dumbshits.

Of course, if 200 million Japanese think we are dumbshits, do we care?  Probably not, but lump that in with the 45 million Iraqis and the 75 million Iranians and the 1.6 million Chinese, and then you're talking some real numbers here.

Pfft.  Let me know when the numbers are significant, and when I should be concerned with them.

Why not make "this guy is lame" signs and t-shirts and stand near him at all times?

I did what I could to destroy every one of those signs I saw at last years Saturday afternoon Mets game.  I also mocked everyone who had one.  The one sign I kept, I spent the entire afternoon giving the bird.  THEN I destroyed it.

I'm doing what I can, people!

Top 9th and Top 10th were mild harshes to my opening day mellow (and I wansn't thrilled about Kerry coming in in a 0-0 tie), but Fukudome-san is a good thing.

The fact that baseball is back is a better thing.

Bob made a good point.  With Kerry's history, if they get him up, they're probably going to use him.

But what do I know?  With the goddamn rain, my DVR recorded exactly the first 8 innings.

Right.  I didn't know where Rockford (sorry, Andy) and South Bend (sorry, Kerm) were until I saw that map.

In looking at that map, considering all the trips I took to and from that town, I should have bought a speedboat.

Is he the worst Cub to never play a game for the Cubs?  I think if I had to choose between Cintron and Ty Griffin....I'd take Ty.

Are we talking position players only?
