I refuse to read that article. What are they saying about Pujols, or allowing him to say of himself? That he's the great drug-free hope, come to save baseball from itself? Who would believe that? He plays for the Cardinals, for Tony LaRussa, the same guy who managed Canseco and McGwire. I don't really give a shit about steroids, I think I've gone on record as saying that drugs are always going to be a part of every sport, so the hand-wringing is useless and self-righteous horseshit. But why would anybody believe any player at this point, particularly one with a head and a body the size of Pujols? It's fucking crazy. Almost as incredible as the notion that Frank Thomas CLEARLY NEVER EVER EVER EVER (DON'T YOU EVEN THINK IT!!!111!!) took performance enhancing drugs because he was so gosh darn BIG! Wha? Never? Not a little somethin' somethin' for his achy whatever the fuck to get him back in the lineup a week earlier? Cuz he's always been such a great guy, a paramount of virtue and wholesomeness. Fuckin A. People are so dumb my brain hurts like a sumbitch. I'm taking a couple shots of VSOP. Fuck Y'all.

I love Apex because he thinks the same thing I do about Frank Thomas.  Anyway, I opened to this article, saw that the opening references Babe Ruth hitting a home run that heals a sick kid and promptly flipped to the article on Martin Brodeur.

Fuck Frank Thomas, Albert Pujols, and Patrick Roy too.

Nice win tonight.  Bulls are in the 8th seed and own a tie-breaker over the bucks now.

Is making the playoffs out  of the East still like getting a ribbon for finishing in the Special Olympics?  Cleveland and Boston excepted?

It's like beating Pitt at football.

These retards are delusional. Not only are they having a circle-jerk about signing Dennys Reyes, but then they come up with this masterpiece:

http://www.stltoday.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=612167

So much to choose from.  This is good:

QuoteSP2 Wainwright Harden Cards, even IF (big if) Harden pitches 30 games

If Harden pitches 30 games, he's going to end up with a Cy Young on his mantle.

At least Adam Wainwright doesn't have a history of injuries...

Or plowing into tow trucks on the interstate.

You'd think that I'd get tired of this joke eventually, but it hasn't happened yet.

He's going to play for Team Canada in the WBC.  So the world (the 1,214 people who will watch the WBC--and yes, I'm one of them) will know how much he's got left.

Schilling wants to pitch for the Cubs.  That's awesome.  I love that guy.  I hope he chokes on a Krispy Kreme this afternoon and dies.

Awesome, you and Phil Rogers will have plenty to talk about.

Also, in order to be historically accurate, Don Baylor would deserve more of the blame than Baker in the handling of Patterson.  Baylor and Ed Lynch could not wait to get Patterson up to the bigs--Lynch to prove that his farm system didn't suck balls, and Baylor for gord-only-knows-what-reason--during the 2000 Spring Training, and their exuberance only engendered Korey's sense of entitlement, which led to him turning into a stubborn motherfucker who was unable to deal with failure when it arose later in the 2000 season and every season thereafter.  And even though Patterson struggled for the first time in his life during the 2000 season at West Tenn (he got off to a hot start at Rookie Ball, Low-A and the Arizona Fall League which is what had Baseball America drooling over him for a couple years), the Cubs went against any good judgement they may have had and still called him up in September.  And, instead of sending him back to West Tenn for the 2001 season, they let him start at Iowa, where he struggled again and AGAIN they called him up to the bigs.

By the time Baker got his retarded hands on him, Patterson was an underdone prospect that had repeatedly gotten undeserved promotions.   Baker merely put the finishing touches on him.

I'm not saying Patteson would have been a good player had he been in an organization that knew what the hell it was doing but, in retrospect, he really had no chance whatsoever considering the clown college that was in charge when he came up.
Intrepid Readers Tank, CT, and/or Gil Gunderson: I'd thank you not to refer to Princeton that way.

I think they came back to Drummond, who had to emphasize that his hat was a Minnesota Gophers hat, not a Redskins hat. Great stuff though

A few related videos might be something Forklift would be interested in.

I'm sure that Mike D. and Apex would surely urge Forklift to watch these videos to their conclusion.

Not much other football played during the 1987 calendar year was worth a damn however.

Watching Walter Payton get knocked down harder than shit, get up before his tackler does and look back at the dude on the way to the huddle... almost as good as boobs.

Watching Jimbo Covert literally[/i ]manhandle a coked-up LT is awfully close as well.

I also strongly positive the pre-replay NFL. The man said it was a touchdown, it's a fucking touchdown. That's it, right then and there. None of this cocking around for 10 minutes watching replays. I can't fucking stand that shit for some reason. Win or lose it eventually kills the game for me. Yeah, I know, I know "they get the calls right..." They still fuck that up sometimes with their interpretations of what they saw or didn't see in those 10 minutes under the hood. They should at least take all replays to the booth. Don't make the field officials have to worry about it. Take challenges out of the coaches hands in the entire fourth quarter. Fire Hillary Clinton. Show me some decent photoshops of Michelle Malkin nude. Give me a thousand dollars. Read Hockee Night.

Fuck it. If you're going to tell me that the state has the right to tell a business it can't allow smoking (WHICH IS LEGAL) within the confines of the building they OWN, then there is no point in discussing this. It just seems like it'd be a waste of time.

I really didn't want to wade into the middle of this shitstorm but...

I'm going to bet that most restaurants do not in fact own the buildings that they operate out of.

As for smoking being legal, have you ever heard of zoning laws?  Liquor is legal, but you can't sell it without a license.  In Oak Park, only restaurants can sell it.

I own my house, and recently had some plumbing work done.  You know what I had to do?  Have it inspected by the City to make sure it was done to code.

This argument is bad.  Take another tack.

Provided Further, That the funds be used by CT to Dry out him basement or for whatever. Provided Even Further, That CT will receive free Cubs tickets for life. Provided Even Further Still, That CT shall be treated as a cabinet-level appointment for the purpose of income tax reporting, and therefore no taxes shall be paid on any of the aformentioned benefits. And one more thing: Jim Oberweiss is hereby expelled from Congress, effective immediately upon enactment.

For Jim Oberweis to be expelled, he would first need to enter Congress, a feat which, as of this printing, has thus far eluded him.

It was a preemptive expulsion.  Just in case.

It damn well better be.  Monkey stories can only take us so far, you know.

I was also going to make a joke about Furious George, but I figured I'd leave it to Tank.

Why is John Williams still employed?

Huh?  Does this mean I actually have to start moderating now?  Or is Desipio so beautiful that it keeps you heathens calm and behav-y?

I think that article is shite.  I think a messageboard reflects the personality of the moderators.  I like to swear and make fun of people and so do all of you, so we basically make fun of each other all day.  Others are uptight and devoid of any complex thought and take everything personally, and rejoice in the ability to ban others from challenging their illusion of "fun."

Shut up, Paul. You're a douche.

Dammit, Apex. I thought this message board was whites only. I'm out.

I thought it was straight whites only.  You won't be hearing from me again.

EDIT : My only consolation is that there are no Jews around these parts.

Go back to Austrailia.

Nice.

QuoteThe Reds of 2009 are light years ahead of where most observers would have believed them to be just a few short years ago. Gone are their bombers, Adam Dunn and Ken Griffey, Jr. Gone are the players of their future, Wily Mo Pena and Austin Kearns. Also gone was their one year wonder, Josh Hamilton.

Rephrased: Gone are Hamilton, Dunn and Griffey, the only Reds players who could hit a baseball during the past two years.

It's pretty obvious to me that the Astros planted this story in effort to get the Cubs' guard down so they can launch their surprise attack.  WE SHOULD OF LISTENED TO PHIL ROGERS!
