QuoteWhite Sox executive vice president Kenny Williams told MLB.com's Scott Merkin that the team hasn't made a definitive decision as to which direction it will go this offseason.

Excellent leadership. No rush, guys.

By not making a decision, the decision of "in the shitter" is made for them. Salty-assed Sox fans will be glorious this summer.

The South Side has a low OBP fever, and the only prescription is more low OBP: White Sox interested in A's infielder and flower tattoo enthusiast Brett Lawrie (.299 OBP in '15; career OBP .316).

Starting to think Rick Hahn might be a complete moron.  Remember when he was a candidate for the Cubs job?  Good God.

Yeah, that awful spending spree from last year is going to haunt them for years to come.

Wha' happened?

They spent $40 million last year to get a combined -0.1 fWAR from Robertson, Melky, LaRoche, and Duke. They supposedly would need to move LaRoche in order to make any significant moves that cost actual money, but no way in hell anybody will bite on that. They're pretty much just stuck being the same team again next year, but now with Brett Lawrie!

I would honestly feel pity now, if I didn't constantly encounter Sox fans whose entire raison d'être was to tell me that Cubs fans don't like baseball, Wrigley Field is the World's Biggest Gay Bar, and that 1908 was a long time ago.

I want them to run off 12 wins in a row to get 3 games above .500 at the trade deadline before they burst into flames.

I actually did feel a moment of pity for them when the Lawrie trade went down and I looked at the Sox fan replies to the official tweet about it. So much rage and anger. Imagine having the Cubs seemingly looking like a model franchise in all of baseball in terms of how they're being run right now, coming off an NLCS appearance, and being linked to nearly every top free agent at some point, and being a White Sox fan knowing your team basically can't and won't do anything about being a 75 win heap of shit. That would suck.

On the other hand, I remembered the dude who argued vehemently with me that Bryant and Russell sucked because batting average and then tweeted "2005! 2005!" at me like 10 times in a row when the Cubs 9 game winning streak ended, so fuck them.

A Sox fan here at work is trying to tell me how Lawrie being 25 means he's still young and will start getting on base. Besides, they're going to get Frazier from the Reds.
