While I realize I'm completely in the tank for Spielberg, this was a terrific film. The Pentagon Papers are simply a MacGuffin for the real stories: Choosing mission even if it costs you money. Truth in reporting. Women in power.
To say that it was a huge "fuck you" to our current leaders doesn't say it well enough.
Hanks and Streep are always top notch. And Bob Odenkirk nearly steals their thunder.

So, watched the broadcast premier. Gotta say I was intrigued but overall kinda meh. New Klingons. New uniforms. And a full human, but with a half-Vulcan mentality. Seems pretty standard.

Really great up until this season. Slowed down quite a bit. But, the tension at the end of last night's penultimate episode in the penultimate season was terrific. Looking forward to next week and how this show wraps up next year.

It's very good. But, it has some small issues.
First two acts are too talky. Takes too long to assemble the team. They don't really generate the kind of byplay between the team to make the team feel like a team. The plot to capture the plans feels half assed. There's one too many Elder Statesmen types in this.
But that's a bit nitpicky. The third act is terrific. They make some very smart and unusual choices with the characters. And Darth Vader is fucking bad ass.
It's a slightly lesser Dirty Dozen in space. Well worth seeing.
