5/$75 (or $80) for Mike Leake ain't so bad for them.

No way they ever regret the 5-year full NTC.

It's not like it's $230MM and/or ten years: it's a decent contract for a decent pitcher.  If the Cubs had done the same deal, I'd be happy enough with it.

Yeah, the qualifying offer salary was like $15 mil this year, this averages out to 15 mil a year. They are paying him to be a decent, innings eating starter and that's what he'll probably be. I just think it's hilarious that there are Cardinals fans who think we should be impressed by it.
I will vow, for the sake of peace, not to complain about David Ross between now and his first start next year- 10/26/2015

He's a 2-win pitcher.  This is pretty much the perfect example of market value, no more no less.

You will always find someone who wants you to believe something. You don't have to always seek them out or listen to them.
I can't believe I even know these people. I'm ashamed of my internet life.

Yeah there's not an entire twitter feed devoted to the BFIBB that most of us follow and chuckle at or anything. I'm just actively seeking out crazy Cardinals fans by myself.

Hell it's not like I am posting in the thread that we have specifically devoted to mocking the Cardinals and their fans

Actually, the pay won't be bad for a #1 starter, which Leake will be once Waino gets hurt again.

STRONG WORDS from Mike Leake!

Quote"Honestly," he said Tuesday [when asked about the Cardinals' rivalry with the Cubs], "I wouldn't mind taking them down."

"Beating them would be kind of okay, I guess."

This is a fun read.  I also had no idea that Matheny has some sort of a manifesto.

I find myself enjoying a lot of Baffoe's work, which is nice in a city that once employed Skip Bayless and Jay Mariotti and still pays Ricks Morrissey and Telander for unknown reasons.

"Manifesto"?  I think that someone is a little full of himself.
If I had known that I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself.   (Plagerized from numerous other folks)
