I really can't believe that unless the ghost of Johnny Bench resides at Principal Park and mind melds with the catchers that Schwarber can really be that much better off (to the point that it outweighs the obvious value of keeping him on the big league roster) catching every day in Iowa vs getting 1 or 2 starts a week at catcher and some left field starts in the bigs. If David Ross is such a great leader and mentor he can prove his worth by working with Kyle everyday behind the scenes.

And sure, Schwarber would probably have some passed balls and other fuckups while catching on those days but hell if we're trying to argue that Ross' framing is good enough to outweigh his godawful bat I don't see how the reverse can't be true for Schwarber. He'd contribute enough offensively to outweigh his defensive issues.
I will vow, for the sake of peace, not to complain about David Ross between now and his first start next year- 10/26/2015

And Schwarber was only catching half of the time in Tennessee anyway. Contreras caught half of their games and Schwarber DH'd a couple of times a week. Really doesn't seem like much development opportunity at catcher would be lost if Schwarber starts a couple games a week behind the plate here and the rest in left field.

Hell just keep him in the lineup every day no matter how, even if it means giving Tony Ballgame a blow at 1st.

Started 38 of 61 games at catcher (62.3%). All other games at DH.

Consensus exists that Schwarber's bat is ready for MLB, just a year after he was drafted. Great win for Jaron Madison and Jason McLeod. My confidence in their drafts is sky-high right now (Almora? Who's that?).

Maybe one of you STATFAGGOTS can determine what the average rate of success with first round picks is, and how the Cubs measure up. But it sure seems like they're doing OK.

The thought of a lineup with Rizzo/Bryant/Schwarber has me downright giddy. Teams will need 2 LOOGYs (loogies?) to deal with the Cubs.

Except Rizzo hits lefties better than righties nowadays.

Saw him live last night. Went 0-4, had a passed ball, several steals against him. Burn it all down. How many more tears, Theo?
