When I mentioned above that the original Battlestar Galactica was Mormon-themed, by the way, I wasn't bullshitting...

http://www.michaellorenzen.com/galactica.html
http://www.holysmoke.org/cos/battlestar-mormonica.htm
http://www.geocities.com/sjpaxton/bgmormon.html
http://home.comcast.net/~billotto/Mormon_N_BSG.html
Glen A. Larson, the original producer, is a Mormon.

Thanks for the info, Chuck.

Also, did you know...

QuoteThe creator of Battlestar Galactica is television writer and producer Glen Larson. According to the 42nd edition of Who's Who in America, Larson has an impressive array of credits as a writer, editor, or producer of a long list of television shows including McCloud, The Virginian, Six Million Dollar Man, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, and Magnum P.I. Also according to Who's Who in America, Glen Larson is a member of the Mormon Church. This makes the appearance of Mormon theology in Battlestar Galactica as a coincidence highly unlikely.

Also...

QuoteAccording to these articles, Glen A. Larson is member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and evidently chose Galactica (which was originally envisioned as Adam's Ark in the late 60's, around the time of Star Trek) to serve as a vehicle for expressing some Mormon beliefs.

And...

QuoteGlen Larson (creator and producer of Galactica) is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and many parallels between his church's and the show's mythologies can be found.

Not to mention...

QuoteNote: Glen A. Larson was a member of the Mormon Church and certainly was
more than aware that he was creating a parallel between the show and the church.
So, your multi-link festivus of info was more or less succinct tham my 9 word response?  OK, 8 words if you don't consider middle initials a word.

Continue THIS!  ::gestures at balls::

That episode was incredible.  Watching this show on DVD was so much easier, as now I can't wait until next week.

"I'm coming for all of you!!!"

What a great final season so far, can't wait till this weeks episode.

Literally everthing is hitting the fan.

I would like to talk about the most recent episode, because there was so much stuff going on, but it looks like a few people are still catching up.

I have never watched an episode of Battlestar Galactica in my entire life, but I'm almost certain that this statement is false.

Bah.

The "literally" modifies "everything" rather than "hitting the fan."

This could mean that literally everything that could figuratively hit the fan is doing so.

If you're willing allow a bit of license for exaggeration, I'd say that this is just fine.

Chills and laughs. I can't remember the last time I watched a TV show and felt my heart beating all the way through.  Then, Lampkin retrieves his shades.  Chief goes by the crappers. Tigh and the "cut your leg off" line.

Fucking.

Brilliant.

I just watched the episode.  I think my computer was getting the wrong video stream from the website because all it showed was a great big pair of steakballs.

I guess that Dirk Benedict can back off now knowing that Starbuck was a guy before she was a girl.
