Watching season one right now. This is a pretty awesome show.

Dr. Venture is pretty much awesome. And Dr. Girlfriend is also awesome.

Add: Finished first disc of season one. Steak sauce.

The Ghost Pirate thing was just awesome.

I think he means that since he goes to what seems like every home game with his internet friends, he can barely afford to take his own son to games.

I like my version better. I'm going to pretend to live in a world where Al needs to get money from strangers on the internet in order to take his son to the bathroom.

I like mine.

"Hey Dad, can I go to the game with you?"
"Sorry, Son, I'm going with "nevadacubbyman68" tonight.  Now finish up that baloney sammich.  I don't wanna miss BP."

"Dad, can I go to the bathroom?"

"Son, that is expensive. Do you think I'm made of money?"

"But I really have to pee!"

"Hold on son, I'll go ask the internet."

Polyellon's piss breaks = the true power behind the Chicago Cubs:

And not that I'm superstitious or anything, but in each of the three night games this week, the Cubs have been trailing going into the bottom of the 7th, and I have taken that opportunity to visit the men's room. And each night, the Cubs have mounted a comeback after that. Just sayin'.

And all of you should pitch in so I can take my son more often. His personal record is now 6-0. (And he got two baseballs during BP last night.) I'll have a game thread up in a few hours.

Is he talking about pitching in so he can take his son to the bathroom?

Welp the ol' health is taking another nose dive so I've been having a pal of mine update my teams over the last week and for the forseeable future.  I had a chance to check things today though and I see that my friend has been making comments on my team page, so I just want to throw out a disclaimer that if anyone is making rude comments under my name IT AIN'T ME.  This disclaimer has been brought to you by Square D, part of the power at Wrigley Field.

Sorry for the inconvienience, take care, and GO CUBS.

No inconvenience Sim, we miss you around here. Get better, will ya?

Don't you see?  EVERYTHING happened for a REASON!  If anything, it's TOO brainy.

Including an advanced alien race invading a planet that was covered in a substance that was extremely poisonous to it.

Makes me think they weren't that advanced.

Makes me think the writer isn't very advanced, either.

Hmm. which would I rather have.

ERA    WHIP
4.96    1.61    Marquis
3.94    1.26    Maddux (and these are his Petco-included season numbers)

I'm with my fellow Hoosier on this one.  If Maddux can be had for little, get him and release Marquis.  Plus, you get a pitching coach for the youngsters.

Just because announcers love to say he's a great pitching coach for the youngsters, I don't understand why people think this is some great help.

Wasn't Sean Marshall a guy who talked to Maddux a lot? Rich Hill? He taught them a thing or two, yessir.

I think if you're going to take any pitcher from the Padres, of those they'd be willing to trade, I'd want Chris Young over Maddog.  I make this proposition with no playoff implications in mind, mainly just to see if he could beat the shit out of Pujols Derrek Lee in a Cubs uniform for the accident fight last night year.

Bringing back Maddux is not a good idea.

Look at his numbers away from Petco.  Consider, also, that of 25 games in September, 15 of them are at either Wrigley, Ken Lay Memorial and the Great American Bandbox.

Maddux is a #4 starter.  If this team wants to win the pennnant, they're going to shootn higher than that.

Al is retarded.

Facts.

I don't disagree with Yellon's sentiment. We could use a SP much more than we could use a CF, so if Maddux is available for almost nothing, what's the harm?

He's bad. I was being sarcastic. I don't want Maddux. Aim higher for fuck's sake.

http://www.bleedcubbieblue.com/2008/5/23/534801/the-case-for-greg-maddux

QuoteThis essay is going to make the case for the Cubs to acquire Greg Maddux, who has hinted this will be his last season, to end his career, perhaps in the ultimate triumph, with the team he began with and in front of the fans who love him best.

Fuck you Atlanta fans! We're better fans than you!

QuoteWarning! This is going to be mostly based on sentiment, not statistics, so numbers people, hold your fire.

Intrepid Reader: Kevin

I do the numbers.

QuoteWe love Greg Maddux, and we need Greg Maddux. He may not be the best available pitcher. But he is the right available pitcher. Go get him, Jim Hendry. Bring him home. In this season where everything seems possible, Greg Maddux should be part of it.

Dude, he warned you about sentiment.

I'm a really big fan of this show. It's kind of a shame that most of the rest of the Adult Swim lineup is pretty much comprised of shit .Though...Home Movies (running in re-runs) is pretty good. I really can't wait for the third season of Venture Brothers, though.

I have it coming in the mail today on DVD from Netfilx. Real excited about it.

Slaky...you must have missed this tear-jerker.

QuoteI had a similar experience senior year in high school. My absolute soul-mate and I decided to give dating a try after being friends for 5 years. It lasted all of about 1 month (and she was even out of town that entire month). Long story short, it ended very badly for me and it took me literally years to fully get over it. She dropped me and started dating a goof ball, steroid addict who could barely spell his own name. She ended up marrying the guy and I've heard rumors that he beats her and is on prozac to manage his bi-polar syndrome. I saw them at a high school reunion a few years ago and I'm convinced that I'm a better man today for having been through it.

ALWAYS take a chance at love.

Isn't that the one TDubbs got banned for ripping on? Either way, it's gheyer than spandex.

I know a guy we could ask to start some shit over there...  He's practically a legend over on the chud forums...

He hasn't been back in a while and I miss him. Dearly.

It does kinda suck.

Maybe if you faggots made some really butt ugly t-shirts for everyone, he would come back.

I got a better idea.  You and Slaky.  Making out on a bed.  Me---just watching.

Intrepid Reader: Sulleymoon

it's better if you're not best friends before you get together and then gradually become best friends. when you wake up one moring and realize that there's no one on earth that you'd rather hang out with or tell things to more than the one you've chosen to spend the rest of your life with another dude from a Cubs website, it's an amazing feeling.
