Title: Pickin' on...Nickelback?
Post by: D. Doluntap on August 31, 2006, 06:20:07 PM
Nickelback blows. They're absolutely terrible.

But these bluegrass yokels are pretty sweet. They're on the iTunes empire. Check out their version of that godawful song, "Someday."

Just to emphasize the important part. Wow, truer words never spoken.

Vh1 rock.  The videos they play from 1-8am, full of green tints and clothes from the mall and Paul Reed Smith guitars.  Started with Live, grew on to Matchbox 20, and has gotten considerably more infuriating in the years since ...

I don't think I've laughed so hard at a song as I did when they spliced those 2 Nickelback songs (I think "Someday" and "This is How You Remind Me") over one another and they actually sounded like they belonged together.  I can't find it online now.  Lame.

Live, Matchbox 20, and Nickelback all suck so bad they should be forced to watch the Cubs every game as punishment.

And, sadly, Live is the freaking Beatles compared to Matchbox 20 and Nickelback.

Live evolved into one of the worst bands in history. Nickelback and Matchbox 20 were instantly carnated into being two of the worst bands in history.

Maroon 5 is on my list of worst bands ever, but that's more of an irrational hatred than an indictment on their lack of musical worth. Which is still zero.

I once found a website which played the two Nickelback hits (the names of which escape me, fortunately) side by side.  They're the same song - exactly the same song.  Same structure, same chords, same everything.

And Chad whateverhisnameis is easily the ugliest man on the face of the Earth.  Astonishingly ugly.  He ain't got no alibi.

Sorry, this is the first thread in the music section I've been able to follow, so I went with it.  I don't have a very sophisticated taste in music, nor a deep, meaningful relationship with it.  You might say, I knows what I hates, and I hates Nickelback.

Yeah they're not very good.  Same is said about the Cubs and I like them too.  And most of Chilli Peppers stuff sounds the same to me.

Chad Kroger, Nickelback's "Lead singer," is also one Ugly dude. He didn't miss a branch falling off that tree.

Mid90s VH1 was atrocious. The only thing worse is, well, present day VH1, except now they're without homos like AJ Hammer.

I like the Chili Peppers. Yes, many of their songs sound similar, but I like them nonetheless. Frusciante is a great guitar player.
It's not fair to put them and Nickelback in the same sentence.

Yeah...Always a good idea to drop 40+ bucks on a show that you get cancelled after 2 songs.  That's money well spent.

On aside, can we sign up the dude who pegged Jesus in the head with a roclk.  He's got a strong arm and it's accurate.

What's great is when you go to 48th St. in New York, there's music stores on both sides of the street between 6th and 7th Aves., and a lot of pretty famous musicians go into the stores to check out instruments, or sometimes they just want to pick something up...the guys who work in the stores get off on snubbing a musician who has actually had some success. Dicks.

Live really were the first, the beginning of the downfall.  I say that all the time, but I could really feel (in 1994 or whenever that album started to get hot) that this was the first of the music I really despised -- something I could see through, something that made me angry, something that was a hundred times worse than what was on the pop charts because its principal avatars KNEW better.
