OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

Swaw this last night in 3D.  It's fairly spectacular, visually speaking, although it's no Avatar from that point of view.  Surprisingly straightforward storyline and, in some ways, not a hell of a lot happens.  Guy Pearce is unrecognisable, Idris Elba is wasted and Michael Fassbender is, as ever, outstanding.  Charlize Theron makes the most of what little she has, and is nice to look at.

There's no doubt about it, though: the alien-related stuff suffers quite severely from our having become desensitised to it since the first films.  It's simply not that shocking any more, and it really needs to be.

Decent film, but not one I'd want to see twice.  Eh, you could do worse.  Does that help?
Your toilet's broken, Dave, but I fixed it.

Did the annoying "theme-music" play throughout the movie?

Bad.

I thought it was solid.  Especially when you consider all the garbage this franchise has been throwing at us since 1986.

Not that there aren't an assload of plot holes.

The holes/terrible, formulaic plotting ruined it for me. It was great to look at but probably as vapid as Five Head Todd.

They had a great first album, though, Slak.

Until Morph does a Sgt. Pepper album cover entirely of Desipio memes, this is the gold standard.

I did enjoy the previews for Gatsby (which while not necessary to have been re-re-re-remade, looks like it's going to have incredible visuals), Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter (same thing re: the visuals) and Savages, which I wanted to hate given that it features Blake Lively until I saw she spends most of the movie getting punched in the face.

We have now sunk to reviewing movie previews.  I blame Jim Hendry for this.

If you see this movie, do yourself a favor and watch TEC's link, because it'll remind you of every question you asked yourself during the movie.
