Title: Captain America: Civil War
Post by: Canadouche on May 25, 2016, 07:37:17 AM
Saw this movie last night. I enjoyed it, but I didn't think it was as good as Winter Soldier. The fight scenes were epic, and maybe a little too long. The best fight scene was at the end of the movie -- it felt more intense, and important. (I'm trying to be vague to avoid spoilers.) If you enjoy the Marvel Universe, see the movie. I suspect it'll be way better than X-Men Apocalypse, which I'm watching on Saturday night.

It's Avengers 2.5.  Or Iron Man 3.5.  I felt like Cap was a secondary character.  It's fine, not special.  And, unless you are up on all the fictional names of countries in this series, you'll be confused by the motivations of the bad guy. Hint: It ties to Avengers 2.

It's fine, fun, and worth seeing. It's also a one-and-done movie. Can't see ever watching it again.

This is fair. I probably will watch it again; I occasionally like to go back and watch all of them in order because I'm an epic dork, but I wouldn't mind having some distance between viewings.

1940s Saturday afternoons found our entire neighborhood, at least those of us who could scrounge up $0.14 at the neighborhood movie (which is now a porno house) to see a double feature, both in black and white and this gem.

Loved him as Lois Lane's dad in Superman: The Movie.

Way late but I actually really enjoyed this. I am not sure I liked it better than Winter Soldier, which I thought was really good, but I thought this movie was pretty masterfully done. The reasons they were fighting were authentic and no side was clearly in the wrong ( a big difference from the terrible comic story it's based on). It was definitely a better Avengers sequel than Age of Ultron.

Also as a guy who is not the world's biggest Spider-Man fan and didn't really enjoy either of the two previous movie versions of him, this one seemed like the best.
