The swing in question:

http://mlb.mlb.com/media/video.jsp?content_id=6768433

Looks slightly better than Ted Lilly's.

I'm being 100% serious when I say this:  I thought Tyler Colvin was a black guy.  I'm shocked.

I'm being a little less serious when I say that he swings like a mini Justin Morneau.

Wholeheartedly agree.  I just saw the photo on the Trib's website.  I had no idea he was a white man.

He's either the bizarro Bobby Scales and/or Les Walrond, or maybe the second coming of Kyler Burke.

Les Walrond was the sweatiest ballplayer I had seen since Joe Borowski was on the roster.

You laugh now, but wait until Kyler Burke is starting for the National League in the 2013 All-Star game.  Then who'll be laughing?  Hard to tell, actually.  But someone.  Maybe Kyler.

And I'll still remain surprised that he's white.

In a few years the Cubs will start the sounds like they're black, but they're white outfield of Kyler Burke, Tyler Colvin and Brett Jackson.  And they'll win 47 games.

I will admit, however, to being pleasantly surprised at the play this year of all three of those guys.  Burke was in his third go around in the Midwest League, but he's still the youngest of the three (and 21 isn't "old" for the Midwest League).  Colvin shook off Tommy John Disease to up nice numbers at AA, and Jackson raked in his first half season with a wood bat.  But hey, none of them are Sam Fuld, so let's not get too excited.

If one of them turns into a real-live big league player of some note, that's not bad.

And yeah, while Colvin's swing is...strange...if the ball hits the bat with regularity he could stick the bat up his ass while he's swinging for all I care.  (Now THAT would make it look like Edmonds' swing.)

I'll believe that when Huey predicts it.

Keep me out of this--I'm still trying to figure out how Kyler Burke sounds "black"
I think he's more of the appendix of Desipio.  Yeah, it's here and you're vaguely aware of it, but only if reminded.  The only time anyone notices it is when it ruptures (on Weebs in the video game thread).  Beyond that, though, it's basically useless and offers no redeeming value.

Well, you're both wronger than PenFoe.

But the important thing is that we can all agree to vehemently disagree about the things that matter most.

"The boy's name Kyler \k(y)-

For more information, see also the related name Kyle.

Baby names that sound like Kyler are Kylar, Gayler and Keller.

Kyler is an uncommon first name for men but a very common last name for both men and women (#15154 out of 88799). (1990 U.S. Census) "

Find me black dude with the last name of "Burke".  Ellis doesn't count.

Short of that, please tell me how we're wrong.
