Naw, I just would've told you the story about how I had to take my wife to the emergency room last week and we were treated in a couple of hours, while her aunt is in Florida (with travel insurance) and had to go to the emergency room and was there for at least half a day.

Your aunt just isn't doing it right.  Emergency room visits work best when you're in urgent
need of care, say with blood pouring from your face.  You get bumped to the front of the
line and get to bleed on everything and they take good care of you.  If someone goes to the
emergency room for something that isn't an emergency, then they should rot on a bench.
If you have a real emergency, then a few hours doesn't mean a fucking thing and you're just
happy they treated you and you didn't die.

You make a valid point.  She was only vomiting until it gave her seizures, which comparatively is inconsequential to the sort of shit that Florida deals with on an hourly basis.

Hey I didn't even bother to click on the article until now, choosing just to take potshots all this time out of reflex, but holy crap it's entitled "Hey Chase:  FUCK YOU"?

For the record, since we're all relating such riveting and engrossing personal vignettes, I've been with Chase since they were First Chicago here, and in 2002/2003 I left my card in the ATM at the Wacker/Lake/Frankling building (333?).  I didn't have my phone that ensuing weekend and it turns out Chase security had been trying to reach me, noting suspicious activity.  Two $200 charges, one at a K-Mart down by Homewood (I think), and $200 from a Wal-Mart across the street.   When I realized what was going on--again after their prompting--they immediately credited my account.  So not only did they pay me back, but their system had already been tipped off to suspicious activity.  I guess that's Andy's point.  If you're generally not too spendy, your bank will get your back if something's off.  But just inelegantly screaming at Chase like some screeching dingbat works too, I guess.

My sympathies for this screwing over. The bailout should never have happened in the first place. Thanks to all the taxpayer money, they could go their merry way, giving out huge bonuses and screwing their customers like this. We keep hearing that we had to do this or else we all would have been sucked into some black hole. Bull shit. If Chase like other companies had to please their customers to stay in business, things like this never would have happened. That's what we get for thinking that government can and should come to the rescue for all our problems.

Back in Dec. somebody copied my debit card and lifted about two grand off it in two days.  I caught it before the bank, notified them, and had to wait about a week and a half for them to investigate the expenditure before they refunded me the cash.  

Two grand.  Gone for more than a week.  And when they returned it to my checking account, I was reallyfuckinggrateful.  Guess I should have gotten PISSED and blogged about how much the bank -- and their apparently ridiculous policies designed to protect me -- sucks.  

I was about to make a joke about Canadian health care, but then I realized you'd probably go batshit crazy and decided not to.
