OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

I guess this place really is dead.

No posts/commentary on Ross as manager?

The inexperience doesn't worry me. I just want the Cubs to utilize every possible advantage, especially advanced statistics, and I have zero idea as to whether or not Ross will do that. However, I trust the front office, so long as they aren't signing free agents to massive contracts, since most of those have been kind of busty.

At some point in the near future, I am hopeful that my wife and I will buy a couple of Powerwalls from Tesla. Very useful in the event of a power outage, and even better if you have solar on your roof.
I understand that the cost of that is around $25000.  Seems a little steep.  We already have solar not only for hot water but for power.  But unfortunately that gets shut down because it is connected to the PG&E grid.   We are actually providing power back to PG&E while it has imposed a blackout on us.  One block away my neighbors are still enjoying the benefits of living in the 21st century while Mrs. CBStew and I stumble around in the dark.

I think you're talking about solar panels + power walls. A single power wall is $6500 and would probably do in a pinch.

I know that there's a lot of worry and stress, especially in regards to "the window."

The window. The window. That's all we talk about. The goddamn window.

Good teams don't have windows. Good teams are good perennially. When was the last time the Dodgers were out of their window? Or the Yankees? Sure, even the Red Sox and Giants have bad years, but upper echelon organizations, teams that are run right, almost always win more than they lose, and they reach the playoffs far more frequently than they don't.

He needs to go away, now.

He's been optioned to Iowa, and I'd be shocked if you ever see him in a Cubs uniform again.
I'm cool with that.

This team is absolutely unwatchable right now.  It's quite apparent that management from the front office, to the dugout, have long overstayed their welcome.  With the dead money tied up in Darvish, Chatwood, Heyward, and Morrow, this team is unfixable in the short term, and quite possibly for the next 2 - 3 years.  And to think, with that money, they could have Jake and Harper.  Two guys that actually would contribute to winning.

Add in what they've traded away for trash like Quintana, and this team is in a far, far worse position than it should be.  It's going to be a long season.

So, I was saying...

Joe gone at ASB. Theo after they finish 3rd or 4th in the division. 20-28 since the "recovery" to the start of the season. This isn't a good team.

Have you ever been right? Like, ever?

Ben Zobrist's marriage (apparently).

You got receipts on this?

I'm probably jumping the gun, but there seems to be something going on there. Hope I'm wrong.

So, yeah....you're not.

Someone smarter than me once told me that divorce is always good news, because no happy marriage ends in divorce. Hopefully Zo returns and is able to focus on baseball. The Cubs are better when he's there and has his head in the game.

And then what happened?

Are you saying that giving up on the season on April 5th is fucking idiotic?

What did Chatwood do to him?

I still play in an online Tolkien-based fantasy league.

So while I was setting up the DVR on WGN for this afternoons Hawks matinee game I came across what was currently being broadcast.
Apparently Channel 9 discovered a bunch of the "Bozo's Circus" episodes from the 1960's and have digitally remastered them.
So they are replaying them as an hour long special.

They shouldn't have, God it's horrific.
The stuff we we used to watch while eating lunch was not exactly formative.

I don't know how we all didn't get seizures from the camera swinging around looking for Grand Prize Game contestants.

It's how they weened the weak out of society. Only the strongest failed to seize and die. You weren't just a fan of Bozo, you were a survivor.

Bryce should sign an incentive-laden one year contract with the Cubs (maybe with player options), bet on himself to put up a monster year, and collect his payday next off season.
