This is what Fork means:

QuoteThe actor was best known for playing vampire Barnabus Collins in '60s supernatural TV soap opera Dark Shadows, which is the subject of an upcoming big screen remake directed by Tim Burton and starring Johnny Depp in the role made famous by Frid. The actor makes a cameo appearance in the film and it was fittingly his final screen role.

What Huey is doing here is explaining the joke.

Well I, for one, didn't know what the hell Fork was talking about, see.  So I was only trying to help similarly ignorant people.  I still don't know who this guy was, but I am totally looking forward to this movie now.

You see, it's funny because it's bigger than a normal hat.

Burns: This novelty foam hand is ludicrously oversized! Go swap it for a smaller one.
Smithers: It is a bit ostentatious, sir.
