This homeless guy drafting Manziel is the Brownsiest thing ever, right?

That was glorious. Also I'm very unhappy the Vikings got Bridgewater.
I will vow, for the sake of peace, not to complain about David Ross between now and his first start next year- 10/26/2015

All purpose thread.  To start it off ESPN published the following quote from Johnny Football,

"NEW YORK -- On the eve of the NFL draft, Johnny Manziel said he has no idea which team will pick him but that any quarterback-needy team that passes on him will regret it."

I would have agreed with him up until the time he made that statement.

Since he said he's the best fit for any team needing a QB, you now think he's not going to be a good QB?

Am I understanding this right?

No.  He is clearly a schmuck who is going to be despised by whatever team gets him.  That ain't good.  Especially when the despisee is the team leader in the huddle.

He's a schmuck because he said anyone who passes on him will regret it?

So, then this guy is a schmuck too?

I'm not saying Johnny isn't an asshat, I just think that quote is pretty much standard fare for anyone coming into a draft.

Although Aaron may be a schmuck for other reasons, the statement about the 49ers was made in an entirely different context than Johnny Football's statement.  Rodgers was, by then, a Bay Area boy and a 49er fan.   The 49ers had a need for a quarterback and everyone, me included, knew that he was a natural fit.  What the 49ers did by choosing Alex Smith was a slap in the face.  Rodgers could have said that the Bears are going to regret that the 49ers didn't take him, but he was angry with his "home team", not teams in general.  His statement was made in anger, not simply because he was full of himself.  (Which he was.)

I'm just assuming you're prejudiced against punk Texas kids from oil money.

And that is wrong because...?

You're a commie bastard, that's why. But I love you because you hate JFF.

Hope you passed a good time in my swamplands, sha.

Meatballs lighting up the Score because Emstink didn't draft a safety and the one they'd heard of was drafted by the Packers eight picks later. As if shoring up the defense in front of the safeties isn't a priority. You can have fucking LeBron Muhammad Bruce Lee at safety in last year's defense and he'd still be making plays 20 yards downfield. WHAT THE FUCK MEATBALLS!!!!!!!!

Oh, well. At least they'll finish last this year and can trade Cutler before drafting Jamies Winston. AMIRITE?

To be fair to the meatballs, the guy had the best name in the draft.

I love corners who can actually tackle. Now P'nut can teach him the fumble punch and we can just enjoy another decade of run-stuffing turnover producing play on the perimeter.

The first one is a great way to go on IR, but the rest are cool.  Kyle Fuller will knock your balls out for you?

A rundown of all the expert (and Florio) picks.

According to that list, two guys (Eric Edholm and Walter Cherepinsky) had Fuller going to the Bears.  Aside from how weird it is to use the team's official site to promote ESPN's Mel Kiper of ESPN, ESPN's Lead Draft Expert Brought to You by the Bud Light Blue Room and ESPN, I don't know why Larry Mayer says Kiper nailed it when the Score says Kiper picked Justin Gilbert.  Multiple mocks?  A rookie Microsoft Excel error?  WYC?

Edit: Apparently Kiper did another last-minute mock draft yesterday.  Next year, let's do enough mocks to get the pick right so Desipio will get a nice write-up on the Bears' site.

Second Round
19 (51). Ego Ferguson, DT, LSU.  6'3, 315

Third Round

31 (131). Brock Vereen, FS, Minnesota.  6'0, 199

Fifth Round
(traded to Denver)

Sixth Round
7 (183). David Fales, QB, San Jose State.  6'2, 212
15 (191). Pat O'Donnell, P, Miami.  6'4, 220

Seventh Round
31 (246). Charles Leno Jr., OT, Boise State.  6'4, 303

Undrafted Free Agents
OT Cody Booth, Temple.  6'5, 285
FS Equine Ducklings, IUPUI.  5'11, 200
OG James Dunbar, Texas Christian.  6'6, 315
DT Brandon Dunn, Louisville.  6'3, 300
OG Ryan Groy, Wisconsin.  6'5, 320
OLB Christian Jones, Florida State.  6'4, 235
LB Devekeyan "DeDe" Lattimore, South Florida.  6'1, 237
RB Jordan Lynch, Northern Illinois.  6'0, 216
LB Tana Patrick, Alabama.  6'3, 238
DT Lee Pegues, East Carolina.  6'2, 294

Positions from the Tribune's report, which adds that Patrick received a $750 signing bonus, Lynch chose the Bears over the Packers and Emery was "impressed" by his running ability, Dunn has a preexisting relationship with new assistant D-line coach Clint Hurtt from Louisville, Booth was a tight end for three years before switching to the line, and the Bears' 90-man roster is now full.

Jones could be a steal — NFL.com had him as a 2nd or 3rd round pick.  Apparently he fell out of the draft partly due to a positive drug test.  Groy was a projected 3rd to 4th rounder.  Lattimore was a "priority free agent," while Lynch was a late round prediction.

Reportedly invited to rookie camp (May 16-18): TE Dustin Greenwell, 6'4 240, University of St. Francis (Joliet); WR D.J. Foster, 6'4 194, Southeast Missouri State; C FN Lutz, 6'3 290, Indiana State ("born FN Lutz III to FN Jr."); OLB Doug Rigg, 6'1 237, West Virginia.

Start fitting their Super Bowl rings.
