All purpose thread.  To start it off ESPN published the following quote from Johnny Football,

"NEW YORK -- On the eve of the NFL draft, Johnny Manziel said he has no idea which team will pick him but that any quarterback-needy team that passes on him will regret it."

I would have agreed with him up until the time he made that statement.

Since he said he's the best fit for any team needing a QB, you now think he's not going to be a good QB?

Am I understanding this right?

No.  He is clearly a schmuck who is going to be despised by whatever team gets him.  That ain't good.  Especially when the despisee is the team leader in the huddle.

So, then this guy is a schmuck too?

I'm not saying Johnny isn't an asshat, I just think that quote is pretty much standard fare for anyone coming into a draft.  

Although Aaron may be a schmuck for other reasons, the statement about the 49ers was made in an entirely different context than Johnny Football's statement.  Rodgers was, by then, a Bay Area boy and a 49er fan.   The 49ers had a need for a quarterback and everyone, me included, knew that he was a natural fit.  What the 49ers did by choosing Alex Smith was a slap in the face.  Rodgers could have said that the Bears are going to regret that the 49ers didn't take him, but he was angry with his "home team", not teams in general.  His statement was made in anger, not simply because he was full of himself.  (Which he was.)

As if shoring up the defense in front of the safeties isn't a priority. You can have fucking LeBron Muhammad Bruce Lee at safety in last year's defense and he'd still be making plays 20 yards downfield. WHAT THE FUCK MEATBALLS!!!!!!!!

Oh, well. At least they'll finish last this year and can trade Cutler before drafting Jamies Winston. AMIRITE?

According to that list, two guys (Eric Edholm and Walter Cherepinsky) had Fuller going to the Bears.  Aside from how weird it is to use the team's official site to promote ESPN's Mel Kiper of ESPN, ESPN's Lead Draft Expert Brought to You by the Bud Light Blue Room and ESPN, I don't know why Larry Mayer says Kiper nailed it when the Score says Kiper picked Justin Gilbert.  Multiple mocks?  A rookie Microsoft Excel error?  WYC?

Edit: Apparently Kiper did another last-minute mock draft yesterday.  Next year, let's do enough mocks to get the pick right so Desipio will get a nice write-up on the Bears' site.

Jones could be a steal — NFL.com had him as a 2nd or 3rd round pick.  Apparently he fell out of the draft partly due to a positive drug test.  Groy was a projected 3rd to 4th rounder.  Lattimore was a "priority free agent," while Lynch was a late round prediction.
